I was hopeful that the success of the rebooted MW1 would follow through to this, but alas it is another CoD let down. The gameplay is fun, but I don't think I've seen as greedy of a moneisation scheme as this. For that alone this gets a negative review. £60 for the game and then £25 for the battle pass is top tier robbery. For the player who doesn't purchase the pass there is 0 encouragement to do so as the rewards as so poor.

As for the game, this is only ever bought for multiplayer and the 5 people that play the story will likely say it is a decent story. The multiplayer experience is ok, but the new maps added through this game are mostly mediocre with the Embassy map being the worst of the lot. Gun play is good and satisfying. The streak rewards have been the same for the last 15 years so not going to comment on that (but really, you should only use the support ones like UAV and counter UAV if you have any amount of respect for yourself). Graphically it is the same as it was 10 years ago so no changes there.

After another almost 50 hours it is still a No from me. We now add the extortionate amount of money you need to spend on top and definitely get a full on "avoid" category for this game.

I really want to like this game and when the game is on your side (i.e. whatever random elements that are in the code all turn and decide that you should have a good experience), then you have a good experience. At the moment, the game just feels like it even isn't in early access so it is a DEFINITE avoid. Not even at 50% off is it worth it at the moment.

My list of issues below for EA to consider if they ever read them

- bullets cannot travel slower than falling soldiers, fix this netcode PLEASE
- lack of ability to create a squad for yourself, playing with randoms creates chaos, whole point of playing in a squad is to do things as a team not as a disjointed group. Look to BF1 to fix this.
- 30 second revive timer has to go. You should only be able to revive someone for the same duration as their respawn timer. Look to BF1 again for this
- the turret and the robo-dog have to go. I am already in a lobby with 128 people, I don't need AI winning games for the enemy team only because the majority of the enemy team decided to pick Boris
- nerf the helicopters please, they are a disease and are far too powerful
- getting hit should not stop your action
- holding the button for self-action should not be a thing
- FLACKS medi gun should have more ammo, it is useless otherwise as the CD on getting more ammo is too long, it should also heal more effectively
- please fix the placement of points on the UI. Kaleidoscope is the worst for that as the points are often below surface level and often you cannot spot enemies as the point markers are covering them
- won't even raise the joke that is matchmaking. the number of times I have been placed in a game that is about to end is absurd. If it is less than 50 ticks left, don't even bother.
- the issue of spawning at the start of the game. Why does someone spawning on foot (which is most of the time by the way) is penalised for not being able to get to the objective. Vehicles need to spawn further back. Also distances between some points are just ridiculous (look to E1 on the Antarctic map).
- if you are going to implement a "character" type game, at least limit what those characters can do. For example, Angel resupplies so picking ammo crate or medicrate should spawn an "improved" version of that whereas equipping a rocket launcher should not be as effective.
- repair tool needs to be stronger and repair quicker, but again this should be reinforced by better character identity
- guns should automatically have at least one of each atachments equipped. We start with the sight so why would I not want my long barrel equipped also?

The list will be updated as more issues are identified. This game has the potential to be cool and fun, but at the moment it is more stressful than fun. If things change for the better, this may change the review.

Knowing Remedy and their work on Alan Wake, while I never got to finish Alan Wake, certainly was a big push for me to play this. Along side the cool aesthetic and the bits of gameplay I had seen before, this was going to be my kinda game.

Great story, love the visuals and the gameplay is fun. Some things were a little frustrating, but eventually managed to figure it out. Overall, highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a third-person over the should shooter with a very good sci-fi story.

I wish there was an in-between score I could award to this game. It has an amazing atmosphere and soundtrack, but the story lacked in developing the main character and a proper character arc. I still recommend it because it is a very relaxing game (apart from a few of those timed missions) which is nice to play after a long day at work.

Best way to describe this is think Portal 2, but much faster and you are being shot at.

While I recommend it, I have two big issues with this game - why can't it resume from the auto save points/ can't I manually save in the middle of a level. Why do I have to lose progress when the game crashes because the DirectX12 version is so incredibly unstable.

I really want to like this game, but at its present state it is something to definitely avoid. What we got is a Rise of Skywalker kind of experience - huge potential but lacks the quality.

Besides the obvious bugs at release (and while I appreciate that these will be eventually fixed and likely in around 6 months), even after all of them are fixed I doubt the game will still be any way near entertaining and for me it will remain a game I wish I had avoided and not pre-ordered.

Good things

- the atmosphere is great, you get the feeling like you are in the city and the surrounding regions (depending on your path)
- the visuals are stunning, there's not much one could say
- the characters are fun and memorable

Bad things

- I don't even want to comment on driving as it feels worse than what driving was in Watch Dogs 1. It is incredibly arcadey and vehicles are just not memorable. You will have more fun running to your destination than actually driving there. GTA in comparison is a Codemasters rally game.
- Stealth is pointless. Enjoy spending hours shooting bullet sponges for little to no reward in difficulties above normal.
- will avoid commenting on the UI as this game has some incredibly unnecessary animations and visuals that will kill an epileptic
- Enemies simply keep chaining the same attacks over and over which combined with the need for the game to tell you this every single time creates the most chaotic experience in fighting them.
- Barely anything is explained. Characters spew jargon after every word, but somehow the game assumes you know it or you will be told what those things mean maybe at some point in the future.

Overall, I wish this was a 3rd person over the shoulder cover shooter and not a first person only game. Maybe in 6 months time to a year this will be a reality, but for now, this game should be avoided at all costs. Pick it up in a sale if you wish, but it is not worth the full price.

As someone who eagerly awaited for this to come to Steam, I was not disappointed.

It is a great new beginning for Obsidian and I am very much looking forward to where this franchise (hopefully) will go to next. Great story, caters to a huge variety of playstyles, great characters, stunning graphics and a wonderful soundtrack. If you loved Fallout New Vegas, then this definitely will be a game for you.

The moment as the impostor when less than 5 remain and the crewmates keep fighting amongst each other is the kind of situation that allows the evil maniac to rise. Brilliant game.

I wanted more and I got a lot more.

Thanks SUPERHOT devs for giving this for free to me. I was expecting a sequel similar to the first SUPERHOT but got something way more than that. A must for all those who loved the first one.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, I have to change my review of this after the release of Master Mirror. While this game has huge potential, until the issues described below are addressed, this game is only possible if you pay ridiculous amounts of money to progress. The game is not suitable to new players and it is a shame as the tactical element of this game outmatches all other card games.

TL;DR: Yes, I recommend it, but it has huge flaws that need to be addressed in order to make this a better game.

Having played Hearthstone for a considerable amount of time, this felt like a natural choice to pick along side it. While I do recommend this game, there is a number of flaws that in the end do help paint the picture as to why this is much less popular than Hearthstone, even though it has the potential to be a great contender. Even though one should not be compared to the other, it is difficult not to given that both are a card game.

To clarify, at this point in time I have only spent about £15-£20 by simply purchasing the individual faction bundles (except Syndicate which is the latest faction at the time of writing). These bundles are definitely worth the money to spend on them and will provide you enough resources

Pros:
1) Much stronger faction identity compared to class identity in HS. This creates a more memorable experience and given that the majority of the random element of this game is stored in the mulligan before each round, the game focuses more on wining by playing the cards at the right time instead of hoping for a random element to save you.
2) Reward book - a great way to help you progress by rewarding new players and help with that initial struggle to build a collection.
3) Cost - this game is a lot cheaper than most other F2P games out there. While there is a lot of cosmetics that one can sink money into, the card kegs are much cheaper than packs in HS. The fact the cost is less does not however justify some of the things that are sold in the shop (i.e decks), but this is covered in the cons section.
4) Achieving a rank in this actually feels like an accomplishment which makes this a more enjoyable game even if one loses.

Cons:
1) The fact that someone can buy a deck out right from the store is not healthy for the game. For players who do not want to spend ridiculous amount of money from the start, it creates a huge imbalance in the player base and halts progression for players who may be skilled at the game, but lack the cards in their collection.
2) Poor tracker of actions while in a match. As a new player, learning what each card does takes time and most of us would be doing this by playing a ranked game. Given that the tracker does not actually show what cards were affected when you/opponent played them only confuses the player and does not facilitate any kind of learning.
3) UI - I am sorry CD Projekt, but it is POOR and can certainly be improved.
4) Duplicate cards in packs - don't think this needs an explanation. It is wasteful to buy packs with ore after getting roughly 70-75 cards per faction. The kegs are more likely to drop a duplicate rather than provide a meaningful addition to the collection. Given that the game only scraps extra cards when the player has more than 4 copies (which I do not understand why would someone need that many when only 2 copies of a bronze card can be put in a deck) and manually disenchating them is time consuming, it is too time consuming to manage your card collection.
5) Arena mode - very poor game design as the whole purpose is to get as many large cards as possible without actually creating a functioning deck. Overall, a frustrating experience.
