This remake was incredible. Most fans had incredible doubt (that I feel was justified) before this games release that Bloober Team would be able to serve Silent Hill 2 justice. I personally didn't have THAT much doubt as I thought a lot of the trailers and promotional looked decent and showed improvement with every single one.

The game does the atmosphere of the original very well in this remake, very rarely faltering visually and always managing to leave me on the edge of my seat. The ambient sounds and screams of unknown origin always keeping me tense and alert. The rare moments of silence with no enemies in sight allowing me to catch a break before running straight back into the horror.

The gameplay is now a lot more fun and intense, with its very useful dodging. At times it feels a bit TOO action oriented for the kind of game Silent Hill 2 is, namely when a lot of enemies are on screen, but despite that it's still incredibly fun. Ammo is handed out sparsely, and health items even lesser, which makes it a very important decision of when you are going to use your ammo and health items and when to save them. The bosses are also 100000x better than the original games bosses.

The story is roughly the same, with improved voice acting and bosses that amplify characters stories a lot more (especially Angela) and it is very respectful to the original game. It doesn't change that much besides dialog and even then it keeps most of the original dialog in tact. It just adds a lot more cutscenes and the game is almost 2x longer than the original in length.

The soundtrack is a superb and authentic reimagining by the original composer Akira Yamaoka that perfectly fits the games moments, but also being outstanding in its own right. Probably my favorite part of this game.


I played through the entirety of this game on steam deck with absolutely 0 PC usage or PS5 usage. I bought it exclusively for my deck. And it had a lot of performance issues, which I entirely understood. After a little bit of tinkering with settings and changing it from dx12 to dx11 I got the game to run at 25-30 fps with rarely any drops. Even on lowest settings the game looked quite good. I cant give any sort of real opinion on this part of the game because I played it in a way I imagine wasn't intended by the developers, but I absolutely loved every second of the experience I had, even on inferior hardware.

This game was a 10/10 as a lifelong Silent Hill fan. It made me happy.

EDIT: Replayed the game twice already and got 6/8 endings all on Steam Deck. No clue why this isn't Verified, as it's fully playable and not a bad experience on this thing. This is my favorite game.

I usually like soulslikes but this was not my thing. If you are super into dark souls and hard games you'll enjoy this a lot. I feel like open world wasnt the best direction for this series, but that's just my view. Im glad so many people like it tho

Extremely overrated game that appeals to people on twitter who like to LARP with Y2K JSR aesthetics. If you like that kind of thing and enjoy skating and riding around, go for it, but for me, this game is really painfully boring. The gameplay isn't engaging and has no actual progression or things to do besides ride around and progress story. The OST is also really average besides Get Enuf, but even then Hideki Naganuma always makes the same sounding songs so... It's just not fun.

Fun short little platformer, can be a bit repetitive at times but its cute. I loved this game.
Also, has a really good soundtrack

This game is the worst game I have ever played. It is astonishing how a series manages to be as mediocre as this, but here we are. Not a single sonic game post 2008 is even remotely decent. All of your opinions are invalid if you identify as a sonic fan, FYI. Never buy this game. Go play a better kart racer, like Mario Kart or even crash team racing if you want to genuinely have fun. This game looks, sounds, and feels like walking through a trench of crocodile ♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ you SEGA.
