This game is good. GOOD.
Fast-paced action and a satisfying gameplay loop.
If you are experienced with FPS games, start in Ultra Violence difficulty.

I gave this game almost 3 hours to grab me. Honestly, it's just a badly implemented fetch quest galore. It started interestingly but quickly devolved into "go here to get the thing and go there to put the thing" and nothing else. I understand that a lot of survival horror depends on backtracking, but this game really misses the point. You can't pick up items until the game decides that you need them, and only then can you go to pick them up. The story seemed interesting, but the gameplay ruins it to such a degree I don't feel like playing any longer. Cannot recommend.

I'm not a fan of visual novels, but this game blew me away. I recommend this game to everyone who likes unusual and creative games and anyone who likes to be surprised and entertained. I can't really say more without spoiling so just play this, it's free. And if you like it, consider supporting the devs by buying the DLC, that's what I did after finishing the game.

PROS:
A true Alien experience. Alien Isolation puts you in the shoes of Ripley's daughter as you navigate through a ship while trying to avoid the Alien. The Alien A.I. is fantastic, learning from you and getting smarter every time.
The story is interesting albeit nothing groundbreaking. Where this game shines is in the alien. You'll find yourself hiding more than running away, as once the alien has your scent, it becomes really hard to lose it.

CONS:
The game is a bit buggy (for some it is very buggy), hopefully it will be patched and will allow for a smoother gameplay. Additionally, the game seems to drag on for too long without nothing new happening. Finally, there are some sections toward the later part of the game which are boring as all hell, where all you do is walk for a very long time.

Final comments:
I do recommend playing in Hard difficulty to actually be afraid of being discovered. It's a great game and I can truly recommend it.

Sidescrollers have always been great. It's a well-known formula for challenge and fun. Now here comes Downwell making a 90 degree turn to bring you a "downscroller". It's addictive as it is satisfying, challenging your reflexes and decision making at every jump.

You control a little dude with gunboots which allows you to fend off the enemies. There are various upgrades to choose from and shops. The levels are generated randomly (afaik) within their own theme which adds to the variety and challenge (for example catacombs 1 doesn't look exactly the same twice in a row). You collect gems as means of currency and also to be able to unlock new modes and color palettes.

In summary, I can say this game is a fun, addictive downscroller and at 3e it's a steal.

7/10

Alan wake is a third person shooter / thriller / mild exploration game. The point of the game is to solve a mystery and a rescue operation. Quite typical for a survival horror/thriller genre. The combat is quite a bit clunky but it doesn't need to be any more elaborate; it gets things done, and after all you're a writer, not a STARS member.

The game is episodic, which is interesting, but watching the "in the last episode" montage right after you just played the episode gets old quickly. It works when you haven't played in a while and you need a reminder, but otherwise it's too much.

Fun fact: the actor after which Alan is modelled is Ikka Villi and the voice actor is Matthew Porretta.

All in all, it's a fun game with an interesting story and creative gameplay mechanics.

I am a bit torn apart in this game. One the one hand it's an awesome game, which expands the Bioshock universe. On the other hand, I had more fun playing Bioshock 1 and 2.

The story is quite good, although very convoluted.

The game should absolutely be bought together with the story DLC's (Burial at Sea) to get the full experience; without them, the game feels a bit incomplete.
If you like Bioshock, I recommend it as a nice addition to the series. If you don't, I recommend you go and play Bioshock 1 first ;)

It's freaking Bastion! My review won't make a difference by now :P

Bottom line: If you have it, congratulations! If you don't, GET IT! :3

Seriously, it's an awesome game. It can be easy peasy or challenging if you want, and the game will reward you for choosing the harder way.

The story is fantastic and the gameplay is fun, the soundtrack is really cool as well. And the narrator voice is the best thing ever; up there in the Morgan Freeman tier. PLAY IT! :)

Trine 2 is an awesome game, which brings back everything that made Trine awesome, and goes beyond. Unfortunately the story leaves a lot to be desired, but the gameplay more than makes up for it.

The backgrounds are beautiful and the music is very fitting to the situations. The voices are fun and memorable, at least the character and narrator voices.

The combat is very basic, but can be challenging and creative if you choose to fight with a less fight oriented character.
The puzzles can be challenging but never too hard that you get stuck forever.
The platforming is quite fun and personally I found to be the hardest thing in the game (as I was stuck the most in it :P)

The full game (Trine 2: Complete story) consists of two "games" so to say, the main quest and a second quest. Although similar, each seems to have a distinct focus: one is more puzzle oriented, while the other is more platforming, with both having certain amount of combat here and there, particularly the second quest.

In short: It's fun and well-paced and aas a little bit of everything: platforming, puzzle, combat.

8/10 would play ;)

BioShock 2 is a bit different than 1. You get to play an obsolete model big daddy! YES, You.Are.Big.Daddy!
Some people have wronged you, hurt you, and those you love, and now you will make them pay, in the only way BioShock knows, through extreme plasmid violence :D
The best part of the game?... THE DRILL!
This game is old as sin, so if you haven't played it, play it NAO!
