really good fighting game, superb animation, visuals and sound design. online netcode is really good too.

the new system mechanics has its flaws, but makes up for it with a pretty unique stamina system to extend comboes. i like that misusing it to 0% also puts people in a huge disadvantage until it recovers- it is called "burnout" and being in burnout is BAD. although, aggressive playstyles will definitely benefit more from the mechanics until you figure out how to stop them, since blocking too much also drains it down. it's got a lot of potential basically, and while there is counterplay, i'm hoping they tone it down a bit.

lots of content and tutorials for newcomers who aren't competitive to get their feet wet in the game too. it's even got a pretty cool single-player story mode/open world thing.

A fun platformer, Super Smash Bros-esque fighting game, where you control one of a few dozen cuddly pixelkids in adorable Halloween costumes and make them instagib eachother. One of the unique features of this style of fighting game is the "one hit decides all" factor (for most characters), making for fast paced matches, where precision and timing is everything. there are only two ways to actually damage your opponent, through the use of a basic standard attack, and a special move. Each character has a fairly diverse playstyle, some requiring optimal distance and planning in order to devestate their opponents, others, well, not so much. (LOOKING AT YOU, CLAWS.)

My favorite character by far, although perhaps a bit of a spoiler as they are an unlockable character, is Bee. Bee is a perfect example of how disparate yet complex the character selection can be, as Bee does not directly damage anyone with their skills, but instead relies on short-lived summons and a non-damaging slowing trap of honey to slowly whittle down the enemy. So fun!

However, the game doesn't seem to be as lucid as I'd like it to be in the multiplayer department, but that is to be expected of an indie game that hasn't gotten the reception or attention I believe it deserves. I don't know if the devs are still around, but kudos to them for making a very creative, easy to jump into and hectic brawling game!
