Admittedly, I've never played the other games of this series, so I won't be able to speak for veterans, but as a newcomer, aside from the slightly bumpy start getting used to the menus, the game is enjoyable. Every weapon feels different, the combat, which is the main chunk of the game, is great.

You get the same sense of satisfaction out of playing souls like games, that is - that sense of progression and improvement, when you do better, faster and smoother on anything you're facing difficulties with.

Its worth the price, especially if measuring by hours spent / dollar, and with 459 hours in, with the expansion coming, I foresee many more hours sunk into the game.
