My oppinion after 30 hours of gametime: worst game you could play on PC.

You wouldn't belive how many times I died because of stupid character control and gimmicky in-game mechanics. I would say I died many more times because of it than because of the game difficulty.

Disclaimer:
I understand that this game is mainly made for the console. But then why can I play it on PC and why it sucks? It could be done better in regards for what I am about to write below, but it wasn't.

Controls
Sprint, roll, jump
Most of the time you would like to roll instantly but that's not possible. Roll action is on RELEASE button action, while sprint is on PRESS action. So there is about 300ms delay between pressing button and character rolling. In a game like this, it means death. After 30 minutes of reconfiguring keybord and mouse bindings, I was almost able to proficiently control my character - this is not a given!

Locking mechanism
To shoot any enemy with long range spells or attacks, you need to lock on target. Which is simply awful. Most of the time I feel like the game is locking on random enemy and my preferred enemy can not be locked on! I tried rebinding keys for changing the target locked, but it didn't help at all. You will die a lot from this mechanics, because when you move through the door frame, monsters will attack you from left and right immediately, and you can not act on them because of stupid locking-on-target mechanics! Sometimes I press lock-on-target shortcut key just to found myself not locking on the target but centering my camera instead, and other times the locking is too agressive, meaning locking on next target automatically, when I just want to run instead. The camera (and a character) will look at the target being unable to run fast backwards!

Character handling
I would say there are not many games which could be worse in terms of controlling the character. The character that I control would not do things I'd like it to perform. For instance attacking the f*cking enemies. There are times, where I just look at my character hopeless and watch him die. When MP is depleted, character is wondering how his staff is not shooting those damn magical pebbles and scratches his head! Damn! And that animation takes 2-3 seconds, from which one third is enough for you to die. It is not possible according to my best knowledge to stop and drink potion, roll, block or anything. The stupid little tarnished will look at his staff and wonder about his stupid boomstick - at the same time I watch him die. Would it hurt to just break the animation and roll?

Looking UP
There is way to look directly up. And I understand that developers would do such a choice for many reasons. But then why put monsters on walls and ceilings? Just to annoy you I guess. To be alive you will have to be wary all the time with shield risen up and rotating your character around to block from any direction. Good luck for your fingers.

"Skills"
A weapon can have a skill. So can a shield. But wearing shield with a sword makes you use shield's skill and there is no way to use sword skill.

UI
Consumables
There is awful way to use consumables. Instead of choosing between buttons like 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. you will have to select preferred item you would like to consume, and use it. This sound like two actions instead of one, but actually it's much more complicated, because selection the item from the list is painful as well. There are mods that can emulate action buttons, but they do not work most of the time.

In-game UI
There is just no way to understand and use user interface as is. Enter is replaced with E key for acceptance, Q is back. There are times when even ESC don't work, but sometimes it does! Like in Map. Opening the map is G key, and closing the map is not G key, it's ESC or Q. Moving the world on map is so unintuitive and painful. Moving between Inventory, Equipment, Crafting is just as painful. Sometimes to get "back" out of habit I press ESC instead of Q and it just closes all of the UI windows instead of going back like Q does.

Worth mentioning
- monsters attacking through the walls (but you can't!)
- monsters walking through the walls and falling down the floor
- annoying popups - everytime something happens or you pickup something, popup will come out blocking all action input, waiting for E button!

To summarize, this game would probably be at least playable if not for stupid controls and user interface. But guess what - I'm still playing this game. Why? Because this game itself is good? Maybe, or maybe because I'm a gaming-masochist

This is the best tower defense game I have ever played (including Warcraft 3 maps, Android games, etc.). Nothing more to say
