Some games are products of love. Carefully designed, adjusted to player base and addressing issues that appear along the way after their release. A profit becomes a deserved side effect of hard work.

EA SPORTS FC gets it all wrong.

Despite numerous attempts from small communities to limit income from micro-transactions they keep getting away with it.
I skipped 3 years of playing installments of this game. This is also the first time I've tried FUT. The predatory practices and absolute lack of respect for the players is spectacular.

I love football. I love playing football games. This game tested my limits and I don't know how many hours would I put into this game if it was good. They should stop with yearly releases and stop claiming they have huge improvements. Respectable games have patches.

Now to the main dish.
Problems:
1. FUT
- online gameplay without reporting abuse (such as AFK in team modes)
- anti-cooperative objectives (goals OR assists for ALL players in the same timespan is crazy)
- artificially worsened rewards to feel need to buy coins (DON'T)
2. Offline
- abandoned problems and bugs for career modes (from 2012)
- unimaginative role play parts of the career modes - they tried, but it's so lame, same conferences, same emails, same conversations with players
- difficulty scales very badly - if you want to play a challenging match with some weak team there's only very defensive approach and you can barely outplay opponents of similar level (I'm not very good, but I know my game and I suppose most of the players will suffer here), if you don't want to mess with specific difficulty "levers" I don't think you will enjoy the game as it's either too easy or too hard and seldom something in between
- drills are still turbo-bugged, I have no clue if they even test them or just release straight from design, some bugs are of course many years old
3. Player career
this one deserves it's own category as my favorite (I love the idea of it, but not the truth).
Disappointment after disappointment I try to play this mode and always sucks.
Player objectives are SO unrealistic it makes it impossible to enjoy on higher difficulty. They want some Messi level involvement every game or you go to bench. Crazy part is they already HAD the solution to this with squad ranking, but apparently it's no longer here which is just astonishingly stupid.
Injuries make you not play games and it apparently also makes manager dislike you as even after the injury you have to become a stellar player to be considered to even start on bench.
They also seem incapable of smoothing the progress of star player. I got 95 rating after 2 seasons. No struggles for that guy I guess.
They did implement some off the pitch additions to spend your salary but it's super boring.

If you love football you should probably buy this on some discount.
The game does produce excitement and memorable moments, but it's very hard to stay out of the toxic loop of microtransactions, bugs, exploits and community issues

Good, very short game. Inadequate regular price tag.
Nice, original and captivating story nuances. The game has classic branching and visual novel structure.

Very chill, story rich game with well designed mini-games and overall character building.
Nice structure of interactions with NPCs and world. Implemented with respect to player's time, but there are still some unskippable repetitive animations which is kind of annoying, but overall it's great.

Saving system is terrible. It's not a deal-breaker, but upgrading it would make the game 2-times better and I'm not exaggerating when I'm telling this should be a top priority issue to solve

Despite that the game is so overwhelmingly beautiful and is worth both time and money invested in it as it tells an awesome story you help create and you can truly become invested in all the threads spreading across this little, but complex world.

Don't be a lame father :D

Game controls are killing me man, I don't want to play on keyboard, but controller is a bit unplayable. Seemed fun from store page, but it aged so poorly I feel like in terms of game-play and design. Not coming back to it.

The game is amazing.
Well executed concept. Gameplay is great and art is very aesthetically pleasing.
As a connoisseur of choices-matter genre I believe it is one of the best games. Not without flaws, but the story is emotional and I got invested rather quickly.

It's a game, not just a story
It's not immersive, but it's not supposed to. It's not trying to convince you that you're not in a video game. It embraces it. The player character with stats, mini-games and possibility of basically min-maxing the play-through. But the setup for the story and decision making as well as awesome failure-success card game mechanism make it very easy to burn many hours on playing trying to explore the world and the NPCs.

Replay it until you're tired
Replay-ability is built into the game so you're not supposed to end the game after first run, but the amount of times you can actually play it is somewhat limited by ratio of new potential discoveries to time spent in the game. And I'd say that's fair. There are a lot of short-cuts available after you discover one aspect of the story crucial to have the best ending, but it's still a bit of work. And I mean "work" because it's still repetitive.
Getting to that desired ending is very time consuming so you're left kind of disappointed if you're not up to spend additional hours trying to get it.
Save-system is well done so that's a plus. Skipping and disabling mini-game is fine.

The biggest design flaw..
..I think is ambiguity of events' presence in colony's locations. There are multiple locations and you're free to do whatever whenever, but since the game is designed to have multiple different mechanism to tell player something is happening (chatting with NPCs, exploring events etc) I don't know why they stopped when it comes to scenes that are results of actions in specific places. It really kills the replay-ability and when you want to explore the game and have a run when you don't just gather statistics but also explore the full story then it's nice to know when we hit the break-point for a scene event not to blindly hope there is something more.

It's the biggest flaw, but it's not major so you know it's a great game when you have to complain about wanting to replay it more effectively.

Extremely pleasant 100% grind
[very minor spoiler, helps with the 100% achievement gameplay] :
Give Sisyphus nectars early on, because he is rather useless later. If you ignore him it's tiring to complete the dialogues. I've done all other achievements and had to spend additional couple hours hunting for his chamber which spawns randomly

Beautiful horror-like story. It's very well designed and it's easy to navigate through chapters. English translation is very clear. Overall quality of the game is amazing and I'm extremely pleased with visuals as well, transitions are clean which is crucial in game with graphics style like this.

Story is amazing to follow, captivating from start to finish.
Must-play game for interactive visual stories enjoyers in my books.

Rather lazy implementation for a visual novel. I'd rather read plain text of this story - which isn't very deep nor interesting anyway to be fair. I didn't like it because everything was predictable. The graphics wasn't the problem but style and design of scenes was quite poor.

I understand why some people could like it, but it's one of many and definitely not top of the shelf production.
I was amused by astonishing 2 choices I could make across the entire game xD
