This game is, without exaggeration, a genuine masterpiece. Play it.

Update: I still stand by this. This game had no business being as deep, brilliant or perfectly designed as it is. Deus Ex was my favorite game of all time but this took that crown. Cruelty Squad took its skin, augs and paranoia but it was elaborated in ways I never could have imagined or designed.

The abstract design is both a deterrent for those not brave enough to learn the way and an attraction for those curious enough to let themselves be rewarded by the crazy mechanics and wild "story." The augs are fun and vary to the point it lets you truly play how you want with any approach you want to use. The game doesn't rely on rng so you can get gud. Every aspect of the movement system is absolutely perfect. The weapons are powerful but some are better than others, while some provide unique utility, but there are some that are just joke weapons. I could rant about every little thing but just experiencing it was enough for me to feel hope and not like a flesh automaton animated by neurotransmitters.

I may not play this game all the time but it actually never fully leaves my thoughts. Get better dialog and make a sequel but don't jump the shark; I'm curious to see if this was lightning in a bottle.
