This game is AMAZING. As the title implies, this game really brings Monster Hunter to the whole world.
The gameplay was satisfying for most of the time and many quality-of-life changes really bring smooth and coherent hunting experiences. The monster designs are amazing but there are a few fights that appear to be more on the tedious or even annoying side. The weapon and armor designs are very polarized in that some endgame gears have beautiful designs while many others are only slap-on and boring. The endgame repetition is not the best but feels rewarding enough to persuade me to play for 500+ hours (I spent another 600 hours or so on playstation as well). The developers really pay attention and listen to the community feedback and post-launch updates including free monsters, overlay gears and paid contents are satisfying.
In all, this is a solid game for both old MH players and newcomers. I recommend trying this game if any of the above sounds interesting ;)
The developers have poured so much love into this game that they supported it with free contents for two and a half years. The latest (and the last) major title update, the black dragon fatalis, is not only the best fight in this game, but also one of the best fights ever in the 17-year long MH series. Big thumb up for the dev team!
