Every time i say i'm done with this game it pulls me back in.

First it was vanilla. Then it was DLCs (EACH time one was released). And then it was War of The Chosen. Finally, the Legacy Pack, and when i thought i was done... i go and find out there's a (truly truly awesome) Star Wars campaign conversion.

At least this should truly be the last... wait, is... is that a 40k conversion in the works?

F***.

So far, out of the many games i own, this one is the best bang for buck you can get people. GET IT.

I have gotta say, this game (played with 3 buddies) was actually surprisingly fun! Fast and furious action, some HILARIOUS cutscenes, and some pretty nice graphics made it a real pleasure to play co-op.

Only downsides were that it can take a while to setup (netcode?) but we did get it working and it is a tad short. Also... why are all the achievements for single player only?

Anyway, in summary we were entertained for a good 4ish hours as a group - buy it if you want some quick and dirty coop shooting action with an entertaining story. ;)

Another amazing game by Inkle - same guys who did the awesome Sorcery! remake for mobile, and quite possibly the best choose-your-own-adventure style game company out there (and deservedly so).

As a fan of steampunk, history, Jules Verne, Fallen London / Sunless Sea, and text-based adventures this one hit all the right buttons for me. :)

Basically, a re-imagining of the famous 80 Days Around The World classic by Mr. Verne and set in an alternative Steampunk inspired age. You are Passepartout, and your job is to guide the indefatigable Mr. Fogg around the world so that he can win his bet within 80 days.

+ The writing is SUPERB and absolutely on point (enough to rival Failbetter Games imho), and the lore is detailed and well done.

+ Good replayability, there are a lot of various routes to take all with their own stories to tell. That, and new events and storylines can unlock/appear in future playthroughs.

+ There are a lot of hidden secrets and stories which add a lot of depth to the story and lore.

+ Achievements are well done here as a lot of them are actually based on discovering and completing storylines - and there are quite a lot of them!

+ Interesting take on the travel mechanics, and yet simple enough to learn - adds a good dose of simple (but tricky) strategy as you need to plan your routes and timing.

+ Simple but gorgeous art and sound.

- After quite a few playthroughs most of the main locations can become somewhat monotonous. That said, this would only be after you played it several times - and some alternatives do appear to break it up.

All in all, i enjoyed myself immensely. :)

In a nutshell - GTA meets Batman Arkham set in the wasteland world of Mad Max.

There is a fair amount of dispute but i feel convinced that this is a prequel and takes place just prior to Mad Max: Fury Road. More on that later.

Protip: I recommend you focus on the main storyline and secondary (blue) quests, don't get overly obsessed with doing every single sidequest else it will get too grindy and you might get bored. Just do whatever sidequests are on the way to your objectives. And don't worry about the difficulty too much and unlocking everything.

Protip2: I recommend you use a controller. Keyboard is fine (i used it) but driving can be a bit tough with it imho.

Protip3: You can continue exploring the wasteland after you finish the game. No need to rush those achievements.

+ The game is pretty damn gorgeous, with probably the best environmental effects and terrain i have possible ever seen in a game thus far. To the extent where i died several times from suddenly admiring an astounding sunset/vista...

+ They really nailed the look and feel of the movie in this game. That, and the game is very well optimized and stable.

+ Mad Max lore - ever wondered who those buzzard guys in the movie were? How about how Max got his PTSD? Or wanted to know more about Gastown? Or why the world is a desert? Or how the whole apocalypse went done. All in the game, which is a big plus.

+ Combat is smooth and similar to the Batman Arkham series. Similarly, the driving mechanics and combat are quite ok as well.

+ Some really nice easter eggs all over the place, see if you can find them all. :)

+/- Unlike the movie the focus is more on hand-to-hand rather than shooting (there is not that much). Not necessarily a bad thing imho.

- Sidequests can be too similar, and in the same vein enemies and mini-bosses tend to be just variations of each other faction-wise. As a result can be kinda grindy, but like i said its open-world so really it is up to you.

All in all i had a lot of fun with this and thoroughly enjoyed myself, highly recommended! Now its off to re-watch the awesome movie now that i have just finished this... :)

Side note: why i think it sets itself up well as a prequel (spoilers):

- You start the game with your interceptor and max is dressed pretty similar to how he was in Road Warrior.
- The main protagonist is Warlord Scrotus, Immortan's eldest son. Might explain why in the movie Max is hunted down at the start by a large war party.
- As you unlock equipment and clothing options he looks more and more like the bearded character at the start of the movie.
- Explains how you get PTSD and why you see the female child in the movie in his hallucinations. In the game he also starts seeing and hearing things as he descends into madness after a certain traumatic event involving the woman and child.
- Scrotus is there to keep an eye on The People Eater (who is in the movie). Makes sense that he takes over Gastown.
- At the end of the game you get your Interceptor back (kinda) as well as your shotgun and it wraps up nicely.

Got into this when they released it on Steam for free, but i had played some of the original Evolve on a friend's XBOX. The current version is quite different - games are shorter and there is more emphasis on the action rather than the hunt itself which was awesome but took much more time imho. That said, overall it was a good design decision to cater for multiplayer.

+ Nice graphics
+ Cool concept done well - 4 vs 1
+ The lore - it was really interesting and i actually got quite into it, very much worth reading!
+ They weren't kidding when they said everything is unlockable, and reasonably so (a little tougher now but still not bad)
+ Great way to spend time with your friends
+ Team mechanics were well done, and at the time updates were pretty constant which kept it fresh

- Been abandoned by 2k now :'(
- The lack of other modes of play were what got me bored of it eventually. They dipped their toes in here and there but nothing really stuck
- Douchebags for teammates, but this is true for any online multiplayer game

All in all, i did enjoy my time playing it. I preferred playing as the Hunters in a team, never could quite get the hang of playing the monster. And... hey its free so why not? Most definitely not P2W for once.

TL;DR: Takes place about a year after the events of Season 1 and 400 Days, a lot (if not all) of your choices in both will affect the situations and how you talk in this season (400 days not so much, mainly season 1). This one focuses on Clementine. Choices are HARD.

+ Graphics look nicer - a bit more colourful i think.
+ The continuity of things is very well done imho and its nice to know that your prior decisions still play a big role in things.
+ Great quality storytelling as is to be expected from Telltale. Manly tears were shed quite often (especially at the end *sniffle*)
+ Thought the quick time events were better this time around, also had more scenes where you can wander around a bit freely.
+ The ending is a lot less linear than the first season, from what i can see there are some drastic differences with each. Awesome, but... how will then reconcile all of them in Season 3?

+/- I think the Season 1 story of Lee and Clementine was a stronger one, this season lacked a bit of the magic of the first, but that said it is an exceptionally high bar to reach again.

- Did not really like the new UI, i don't think it should have been changed.
- Not quite as much character development as the first one imho

Overall i liked it immensely, especially the second half (chapters 3-5) and, while not quite as good as season 1, it is still one of the best choice driven narrative games i have played. An absolutely essential purchase and experience!

I am so up for Season 3!

So how did i end it? [SPOILERS]

In the end i let Kenny convince me to take AJ and go into the town while he walked off into the sunset. Toughest decision i ever made but... i was wounded and there was the baby. Thanks for everything Kenny. :'(

Update: I nominated this game for the “I'm Not Crying, There's Something In My Eye” award.

Basically 5 short separate, but interconnected, stories set in the world of The Walking Dead.

I quite enjoyed this one, as it provides character variety and each short story was pretty straightforward and had you make tough decisions early on. That said, it does lack the depth of the first game because of the lack of time to really get to know each character. It all boils down to a final decision for the group in the end and who does what, based on the choices you made in their individual stories.

That said, those who survive do make cameos in Walking Dead Season 2, but aside from that, not much else.

All in all, worth playing - it is fairly short but serves as a nice extended epilogue to the Season 1 game so... yes, if you liked the first one by all means you should play this.

One of the best point and clicks i have ever played - a true classic of the genre.

Story-telling is the biggest draw here, and the toughest things you will do is to decide - all your decisions carry consequences, even later on in the story and will have a big impact on who is still around and what their relationship is with you each step of the way. The actual action sequences are fairly simple so consider this a casual game overall. The character development and how they get you to invest emotionally in the characters is truly great and allows for a seamless experience, regardless of what decisions you make.

I'll write a separate review for 400 Days in the relevant store page but it is worth getting imho (on discount).

I don't have much more to add on top of what other people have already said, but you really owe it to yourself to play this game. :)

Pro-tip: If you can't get it to launch, go to the actual .exe (in your steamapps > common > Antenna folder) and launch it from the .exe directly. You won't get any achievements though.

Short, atmospheric and free puzzle-based game that should take about 20-30 min on average to finish as there are only one or two serious puzzles. I quite liked the mysterious premise as well as the art style and the emphasis on sound (you will need a good headset for this). However it was kind of let down by the fact that it wouldn't launch from Steam console for me (thus my lack of achievements). Otherwise, a nice little game to pass the time.

Protip: READ THE MANUAL. Seriously. Take note especially of the controls and how your assistant picks up things - you will need him to take the MAP and the LAMP. Remember thiiiiis...

A nice little game which took about 5 hours to complete and based on "In the name of the Rose". In the end, i do recommend it, mainly for the plot and the uniqueness of the setting (you literally live as a monk). That said, if your experience is anything like mine prepare for a lot of confusion in the first hour or so as you try to find your way around the massive monastery (easier said than done with the crazy camera switching), the strange rites you need to attend (you'll see what i mean - tip: just follow the other monks and read everything CAREFULLY) and the strange control scheme.

BUT. Persevere and by the second hour i promise you that you will have gotten used to it all and start getting sucked into the plot. I have to say, finishing the game gave me a great sense of achievement and in the end i know that i will fondly remember it for the unique experience that it was.

Also, save often. ;)
