Absolutely fantastic remaster/remake of the original Risk of Rain. Some of the decisions that were made with this game were a little questionable, but I'm excited to see how the devs continue to support and update the game.

UPDATE: The servers have been relatively stable for over 24 hours now, and seem to only continue to improve. Will continue to monitor and update this review.

I am making this review for the current state of the servers, not the game. I find the game to be extremely fun and am very much looking forward to it once the server issues are fixed. But currently, barely anyone can matchmake into a game because the servers are having issues not only keeping up with players, but having stability issues outside of that, too. It is genuinely frustrating and disappointing to have the game be in this kind of state on launch, and the server host and executives are entirely to blame. This is not the developer's fault. It is the fault of those running the company that chose to make the game always online and choose to tell people that the servers "won't go down". Overkill has never made an always online game before (to my knowledge) and it is clear that they were unprepared. I do not regret my purchase, but I recommend you wait until the server issues are fixed before buying.

Will update my review once they are confirmed to be fixed long-term.

Extremely good DLC for Rise and some of the most fun I've had with monster hunter since 4U. The endgame mechanic kinda sucks and farming for layered armor isn't fun, but the rest is good.

I wanna recommend this game but the amount of money you have to pay every time a new expansion drops, on top of the genuinely awful and confusing new player experience, not to mention the fact that content you buy is actively cycled out of the game after a certain period of time makes it really difficult to do so. The game's extremely fun if you can get past those initial hurdles but I wouldn't be able to go out of my way to tell someone "these really aren't big issues i'm sure you'll have a good time haha"

Good content, should have been free. Bungie is once again very greedy - buy it if you really want the dungeon stuff and Gjallarhorn, otherwise this one's a hard pass.

Excellent cave-dwelling dwarf co-op mining game with continued, consistent developer support post-launch.

Rock and stone, everyone.

I'm nearing 800 hours in this game and I JUST figured out how elemental damage actually works.

Wacky woohoo pizza hobo and his nephew who's voiced by the second black power ranger fight pizza hobo's motivated brother.

Game of the year.

I highly recommend using a gamepad to play this game, though it is up to your discretion as to whether or not you use one.

Monster Hunter: World is a game where you go out, hunt monsters, carve their bodies to get materials to make bigger, better weapons and better armor to hunt bigger, and stronger monsters.

Monster Hunter: World is an updated, westernized, and overall streamlined entry in the Monster Hunter series. The world itself is breathtaking, it honestly feels alive. The Monsters feel like they're part of an actual ecosystem and act as such, with small and big monsters alike co-existing.

You WILL need a PC that is relatively powerful to run the game at 60 FPS. Keep that in mind if you plan on buying the game.

Monster Hunter: World is an excellent introduction to the Monster Hunter series, but the PC port needs some work. Even then, the game is insanely fun after a bit of elbow grease.

tldr; Monster Hunter: World is a fantastic entry to the Monster Hunter franchise and I would recommend it to anyone looking into trying the series. The PC port is good enough to play with some slight issues that can be worked around.
