feels like smoother gameplay

Bought the game only to find out that all of the good features are not on the PC version. VERY disappointed.

Unplayable with the regular crashing and wish i didn't buy it, while still waiting for simple QoL changes like adding a simple monuments map mode.

this game is very polished and clean. While it is good to learn the basics now before new mechanics are introduced, there is not enough spice to make it overly exciting. Would be an excellent buy when DLCs start coming out. Would recommend to buy if you're a fan of grand strategy, and to wait for DLCs or discounts if you're not.

Great way to learn a new language. May want to buy during discounts to help decide on next travel location.

If you like grand strategy games, this is a good starting point compared to the more complicated EU4 and CK2.

Of course, it would get more complicated when new mechanics are introduced when DLCs are created, but I do expect Paradox to keep the complexity of HOI4 lower so as to make it their entry-level GSG.

Stellaris is another great grand strategy game by Paradox. However, it does feel lacking when compared to their more complete products such as the CK and EU series.

If you are new to grand strategy, then Stellaris might be an easier starting point. However, it does feel slower in tempo compared to EU4 and if you want to fight from day 1, then you might want to stick with buying EU4 or HOI4.

Excellent game with a good speed running community.
