A fun combination of Colony-sim and roguelike.

A fun game from the perspective of the monster with narration in the style of National Geographic/History Channel reality TV narration. It's very short though and a lot of the gameplay can be very repetitive. I would say it's a worthwhile buy only if you really like playing the villain and can get it on sale. It's really not worth the full asking price of $40.

I haven't quite finished the DLC yet, I may update if that sways my opinion.

If you like RPGs even a little, you'll love this. Larian has crafted an unparalleled RPG experience. Buy at full price, it's worth it.

If you have friends you can convince to play through the game with you, it's worth playing through several times. There is so much to explore, too much for a single play through.

Early Access Review
Battlefield, but you don't have to deal with any of EA's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. No battlepass/dlc/microtransactions, just 256 player battles.

An amazing storytelling game. Survive on the outer rim of a galactic empire. Fight Tribes, armies, Giant warmachines from long-dead regimes, and insects from the depths of the earth. If you like colony games, you'll like this. Plus it has tons of mods available that do anything from minor quality of life changes to major overhauls of game systems.

The DLCs are worth is too.

Fallout 76 might be a worthwhile experience if it wasn't laden with micro-transactions and if it were stable at all. As is, the monthly Fallout One subscription becomes a requirement for mid-late game items. Stability is a major issue, recently the game won't even stay open for a full hour before crashing to desktop, interrupting missions, resetting progress and penalizing you for the disconnect.

A great way to kill some time on a break. It's fun to play with different weapon loadouts and to get a good feel for what combos work well and what weapons are useless. 10 hours in and while I do feel the game has shown a lot, it also feels like there is an enormous amount left to explore.

The game is kinda fun, but extremely grindy. At the time of writing I am 8 hours in, but only just getting through the second technology tier with no clear path forward to the next technology tier. The main thing holding the game back seems to be the crafting and gathering system. All crafting in Force of Nature is time-gated, sometimes minutes for a single item. You can somewhat automate the crafting with NPCs, but they accumulate slowly, so you can easily spend an hour crafting after a moderately successful ore run. During tier 2 animals become somewhat automated, reliving some of the grind of dealing with some basic crafting materials, but they still require quite a bit of micromanagement until the third technology tier. Plants appear to a perpetual grind, which is unfortunate, because they're critical to most crafting, and ore processing is an ordeal with the number of steps involved to make an ingot. This can be mitigated by crafting in bulk, but then you are tying yourself to your campsite while you babysit every step of your ore process.

I don't think this game is worthwhile unless you truely enjoy an MMO level grind.

The spawn of the Soulsborn formula and the Open World formula result in an amazing title, better than exemplars of either genre. More accessable than other Soulsborn games, more compelling and richer than open world games, this is a game for nearly everyone. It is still challenging, don't get me wrong, but you are allowed to take on challenges at your own pace and to only take them on when you are ready.

I've tried many times to play dwarf fortress, because it inspired nearly every game that I love. With the graphical update and the usable controls, I've finally succeeded and it is glorious.
