The game suffers from some balance issues that are constantly being worked out. There is lots of content including different maps and cosmetic items to get for your characters. Matchmaking can be a hassle at times, with fluctuating differences in wait times that can be frustrating. In addition, the "offerings" system needs to be fine tuned to where a player failing to connect refunds your offering. At the moment, if for some reason your game crashes, or another player fails to connect for any reason, you are not refunded your offering, which is kind of a slap in the face, especially considering opportunities to unlock some of them are very rare. Offerings can make a big difference, giving you or your entire team an advantage in the game, so to have them robbed by a person disconnecting is kind of unacceptable. Games like CS:GO have systems in place to forgive game crashes or disconnections due to server instability, so I think it would be nice to see something like that fleshed out in this game. The main reason this game is fun, is because the game is fair the vast majority of the time. Although killers sometimes camp hooks, in reality the killer will suffer a huge loss in their Hunter score, which is dependent on chasing survivors, which in turn negatively effects their chances of ranking up. The game is mostly about how you win as opposed to whether or not you win. A killer can rank up by just sacrificing one survivor, or a survivor can rank up despite being sacrificed. As long as you diversify your play as much as possible, ranking up should come easy. Custom games automatically unlock all perks, offerings, and add-ons for the players involved, so they can be a great way to test out those things without potentially losing or wasting them like players could in a ranked match. Overall the game is fun, but inevitable encounters with trolls, players disconnecting, and killers and survivors using tactics that are deemed unfair do happen on occasion. I would recommend getting this game even at full price, but there are plenty of opportunities to get this game on sale nowadays like I did, so it is an easy steal for the consumer.
