Sure, there has been an influx of boomer shooters in the recent years, but Retooled stand out due to its movement mechanics. In this game the movement is not just an element on top of game, the mechanics are rather intertwined with other elements like the charge of weapons. So you get rewarded for jumping around like a ninja on PCP, which is exactly my kinda thing.
If you like Quake-style games, you should definitely give Retooled a shot. If you think CS is the pinnacle of FPS, this game might not be for you, unless you want to widen your horizon ;)

Despite the negativity about this game I must say that it is probably the Quake version I had the must fun with in my entire Quake playing career. I have played every single one of them, but the Champions add a lot of depth and variation to the game that make it fun and give you so much to learn. So even though there is a lack of new content, it doesn't get boring for me.
