I have 92 hours on PC, but hundreds more on Phone. The game switched a few years ago to a token model, rather than straight cash, to obscure what you were spending, and to accumulate unspent token cash. I've been playing since launch in 2017.

I have not bought a DLC since the switch from cash. I will recommend the game and write a proper review when the revert back to money over obscurity. Whilst the PC version uses money on Steam, the phone version doesn't, and the company reneged on its plan to allow crossplatform use of resources.

This DLC is worth it if only for Eltharion. I DO NOT PLAY Greenskins, I'll be right up front, there. And they were recently nerfed with the addition of Gorbad.

Eltharion's mechanic, capturing enemy leaders and using them to build his proprietary Mistwalker units, is a riot. You can play the mission in WHII, sure, but the true fun is in the Immortal Empires version, where you can decide to stay home, abandon home for the badlands, or try both!

This is an excellent game. Top tier graphics and extremely fun gameplay.

But as someone coming from other genres, the learning curve it steep. Stupidly step, because there are really no tutorials for ANYTHING. IN Warhammer Total War you can't shut the advisor up. Here, there's little to no indications of how any of the combat works.

There should be a slowed, down, step by step combat to explain things to you. And before some veteran 3ps gamer comes in and says "Git gud bro", F off.

Recommended, sure, but c'mon, help a brother out.

Shameless policy on the DLC. If it was only ever 1 season, should have been called Season 1 Pass. Shameful.

Initially released for TWW the Wood Elves were a failure. But the rework changed the amber mechanic, and the Lord Pack that includes the Sisters mages this a great investment.

Durthu, Drycha and the Sisters are superb with unique play styles. The Wood Elves play unlike any other faction. And even Orion got his own mechanic.

Highly recommended now.

Changing to DO NOT BUY. I pay for DLC, have done for 5 years, and they update factions (Tomb Kings and Lizardmen) and they're BROKEN. The Game Is BROKEN 5 years in (from WHII) or 3 years broken for WHIII. FFS, c'mon.

Changing to a recommendation, since the release of Immortal Empires actually made this a playable game WITHOUT having to use Mods.

There are still a few puzzling changes from WHII. The sort of thing that make you think the designers don't actually PLAY the game. But if you can get it at a good sale price, it's a definite win. Also, Immortal Empires is permitted for all included Lords and a host of FLC Lords, too.

Currently a total mess. Economy destroying bugs, overly busy campaign mechanic that means you're a whack a mole expert, NOT a nation builder.
Wait for patches to fix this appalling release.
