To those defending Overwatch:

This game has positive aspects, yes. However, you are huffing the copium in quantities that are extremely unhealthy. I pray for your speedy recovery, however I am certain it will take Blizzard doing much more than sexually harassing employees, drinking while working, literally abandoning the "live service" title for 3 years, and slurping up each inch of cash from your bank because you have no spine left to realize this game is ass.

I don't care about their inclusion chart. Not because I am against inclusion, but because I am for making a fun experience in your game first. I want the game to be fun. Whether I am playing as a trans woman, a black man, a gay person, or any other minority group, I do not care. If the game is fun, it is likely that even the idiotic bigots will ignore those factors, too. So yes, I disagree with the idiots ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on inclusion graphs because of them being "left wing ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥" lol. Maybe though, just maybe, if the game was good, these bigots wouldn't be picking on it anyways? Not justifying, just saying. Maybe let us focus on criticizing the game for the right reasons.

I loved Overwatch a lot, and was really hopeful for OW2. The idea of 5v5 was exciting to me because I felt that 2 tanks really slowed down the gameplay. The gameplay was a nice change of pace until they... again stopped making GOOD content. I hope this game, alongside the company Blizzard all crash and burn. This is not coming from a place of hatred, but instead a place of mercy.

Greed ruins these beautiful projects that some of the art team clearly care about.

P.S. I have no sympathy for devs. They deserve the hate.

EDIT LATE OCT 2023:
They removed uncensored chat as an option LMFAO! This game is HORRIBLE.

Great to see a good game made by a non-greedy billion dollar company.

You've likely read tons of reviews of this game praising it for this, so I will not linger on it. Instead, I will focus on the "it's not for me" thing.

It's more like Battlefield, and I enjoy fast paced movement shooters and arcade shooters like COD. This game fills a hole for neither of these style of games. If you like Battlefield or Arma/Squad, you'll probably really love this.

However, if you love games like Team Fortress 2, Tribes Ascend, Quake, Call of Duty, or Krunker, this game will likely not fill the same void those games can. I gave this game a shot but quickly discovered it was not for me. I don't like the emphasis on being somewhat "tactical" and would prefer if I could instead use my mechanical skills a bit more in the game.

Good game for other people, rating 5/10 for me. Not recommended for people with my tastes.

Early Access Review
EDIT: 12/31/23:
This game was given an update fairly recently, and the update is good! I won't say too little too late, but I would love for more content to be added.

-----------------------------------------------------

EDIT 09/05/23:
This game has for now been abandoned. Was waiting for a new update to play more, but it seems it will be either a while or never for new content. For now, avoid purchasing.

Prior review:

This game scratches an itch I never knew I had. This mix of minor survival mechanics mixed with working on your car. I'm your average "Not a car person" person, yet it was accessible and quite fun.

You 100% need the wiki to learn some of the features, but there is really no rush or pressure, so you could just experiment and figure it out on your own.

Positives:
+Unique and interesting gameplay through survival and car repair/management. Working hours and creating maple syrup.
+Relationships with characters that directly impact game play.
+Constant updates consistently as of writing.
+Cheat menu built in
+Driving feels real. Not fun, but real. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cars feel ♥♥♥♥ to drive. Really well done later game cars feel better.

A genuine blank slate of content exists here that could be STUFFED with amazing game play.

Negatives:
-Moderate bugs.
-Not tons of content yet, but lots of potential for growth.
-Wiki almost entirely necessary to make the game less trial and error.
-In game map for navigation you can pull up is the worst I have ever seen in a video game. There is no indicator for where the player is, and things are intentionally marked poorly.
-Some things are left untranslated that I'd love to read.

EDIT: Placing this in front since people comment before they read my post, and critisize me for not playing enough of the game:

"Also, for note, my time on Steam does NOT correctly reflect how long I played it as marked with me receiving the game for free.".

I refunded after playing the game for free- I have to admit I went into it pretty excited. I am a huge fan of games with movement mechanics, I grew up on Tribes and have routinely followed the scene of vertical shooters. I got to V2, beat V2, and decided it was time to stop playing. I did not find the game particularly difficult, but I found the mechanics quite boring.

The movement felt somewhat clunky to me, and I didn't find the various enemies and rooms very fun to play against. They look like generic old video game enemies. I am sure that is part of the charm for others, and I will not hate on people for enjoying this game, clearly many do love this game a lot. I find the amount of content in this early access title a bit limited too, I ended up looking up the remainder of the content and for a game that has been out for over 2 years, approaching 3, I am very sad to see more game developers take this route of: release game in "early access" > slowly add dripped content > abandon game eventually > loop.

I understand that "THIS DEV IS DIFFERENT THOUGH!!" will likely be thrown back, but it doesn't excuse this tired process developers consistently put out. Time will tell if Hakita finishes the game, and if so, I would be happy to try it again.

>inb4 cringe Reddit and or FUNKe fans attack me for disliking their collective echo chamber game of the year.

BUT THE SECRETS DUDE!!! THAT'S SO MUCH CONTENT!!!!!

Sorry, secrets to go back and find in a game are an addition, certainly, but not a way to excuse a lack of content. Also, for note, my time on Steam does NOT correctly reflect how long I played it as marked with me receiving the game for free.

An easy to read TLDR: This game feels unfinished and the idea of mixing Devil May Cry and Quake into a Retro shooter is really cool on paper, but so far has felt boring to me and could not hold my attention.
