It's very minimal right now since it's in early access, but New Day has a lot of charm. I definitely see the inspiration from other life sims like Tomodachi Life, The Sims, and Animal Crossing.

Although it does have a lot of the same wackiness of Tomodachi Life, I appreciate how there's also a bit of darker humor in the game with some of its dialogue and gameplay. For example, you can drown some of your islanders by dropping them in the ocean. Another minigame has you choking a doll to make sure it's not possessed. It's a bit edgier compared to the usual wholesomeness of other life sims, but still pretty light-hearted overall.

I recommend it since it's free so there's nothing to lose. I had a lot of fun with it and hope that they continue adding more content.
