This is a cozy game which REALLY capitalizes on everything I look for in a game that I want to actually relax me.

I have complete control over everything, down to the amount of shiny I want the legs of my chair to be or the colours of the cash register. I can remake the nom noms as many times as I need to until I get them perfect without any penalty which is the real chef's kiss for me personally. I know there have been some people thinking the creatures are a little strange looking, but that was one of the things which actually first attracted me to this game early on when it was first announced! I thought the little guys looked so charming and silly, and especially now after interacting with them and learning they each have their own dialogue tagline similar to characters in Animal Crossing, it really enhances the unique appeal this game offers. The shark with legs is my favourite, or maybe the lizard-frog guy (whatever he is, he's green, and i love him everytime he says mlem).

I also think the game loop itself is satisfying, with consideration taken for players of all accesibility types. The upgrades are reasonably priced, and so far everything feels well paced. Cooking sims are often not so heavy on aesthetic options that you don't have to grind your butt off for, but Nom Nom wants you to take time refining your aesthetic, decorating cookies, and there's never going to be any voice pinging you repeatedly to cook one more dish, cook it better, or anything like that. I think a cozy forest cafe really is the perfect definition of this game, as it REALLY delivers. This is a game I very much feel is worth it's price, especially considering how much the developer cares about this project. You can tell this is a labour of love, and I feel confident that it will garner love in return. I really look forwards to seeing how this game continues to grow. If you like cozy cute games or cozy cooking games, this is definitely something which deserves a spot in your library.

This game would have a lot more potential if it wasn't supposedly filled to the brim with generative-AI assets. I think it has a lot of promise, but it's disappointing to see a company with the funds take such a lazy, careless, harmful route to save a few dollars. Money they pay to have influencers play their slop on stream could have gone to actual artists, and instead they chose to ask the robot which steals and wastes water to make their assets and then they refused to actually even admit to using generative AI. Regardless of how cute the game concept is, this sort of business practice will never seem cozy.

This is a really promising approach to a cat themed game that feels half clicker half idler. While the initial gameplay is a little slow for collecting profit, I found that letting my first few cats collect outstanding adoption fees before "adopting" them out allowed me to purchase all upgrades and cosmetic items within an hour's time. I can tell this game was created with love for our feline friends, as the details of the cats sleeping both on and under all the furniture types adds a level of realism. Though this game has yet to release, I can really see it being a hit for cosmetics (i.e, a different window scenery, rugs, plants + furniture colour schemes, maybe even paintings of remarkable cats) and a lovely second screen option for when I'm working at my desk. Personally, as a player who grinds for achievments or collectable rewards, I think there is some missed potential for things like: "x amount of cats adopted unlocks a new type of whatever" or "milestones" where maybe my catio is recognised as the superstar cat adoption facility I've worked to make it become. Overall, I'm reminded of games like "To The Rescue!" and "Cat Cafe Manager" with a unique pixel art style that feels quite lovely. I'm excited to see the full game and explore the rest of the content.

Well priced for its content and learning curve but would love to see maybe some DLC in the future! Thanks for sharing the game with the world!

This is such a cute and relaxing game. I was so excited to purchase it straight out of early access and I played 8 hours the first day I bought it! I really hope the creators plan to add even more content and tasks, I love this concept of an environment sim!

I love this game, there's plenty to do and the developers are very involved and transparent with their plans to fix and add even more content! As there are with any new games, Moonlighter does have some bugs but the developers are usually on top of them in a timely manner. Personally, I think Moonlighter is quite a gem and would reccomend it to any one of my friends.
