Looking back, I was a die-hard fan of the "Thing Thing" flash game series, and I never really cared for the "Madness" animations and games. Always felt that they lacked the touch of consummate refinement the "Thing Thing" games provided. However, the developers have really outdone themselves with "Madness: Project Nexus", from its artistic style to its smooth gameplay to its intricate level design. You can tell that this game was made with love. The bits that I adored so much about the "Thing Thing" series have been incorporated into the "Madness"equation and reinvented in a most delicious manner, and I cannot truly articulate how impressed and appreciative I am of the developer's efforts.

Please keep in mind that this is coming from someone who has spent hundreds of hours on the aforementioned flash games and animations; for someone completely new to the "Madness" series, proper expectations should be set. I would still advise them to look up the gameplay footage and peruse a few more detailed reviews before purchasing this game.

Aside from the highly replayable events and the not-too-shabby storyline, you get to meet a community of wonderful people like yours truly.

What appears to be an ordinary zombie-themed graphic novel transforms into a thought provoking, gut-wrenching but nonetheless heartwarming masterpiece as you explore not just the post apocalyptic world, but also the very depths of the human psyche.
