The game is quite honestly, pretty boring. Grindy with poor game design. After almost six years, it still feels like an early access game. I regret spending money on it.

I tried to give it a lot of chances, as you can see by looking at my playtime, but I still think that the most fun I got out of this game was when I was just mindlessly scanning planets and listening to audiobooks in my browser. It's a shame that the game has a radio, which only plays galaxy news, it could use a feature like the custom radio from GTA.

The gameplay is pretty boring, since all the different playstyles are incredibly shallow. Exploration boils down to flying through empty space, pressing a button to scan a system, and if you're feeling like wasting your time, you can also fly to a planet and map it for some extra cash. Mining is... just boring. Combat is somewhat good, but completely unbalanced due to engineering, which is a giant grindfest, I also feel that the game could use a "testing" gamemode. Something like a tutorial, in which you can play around with different weapon types. Why? Because most are only useful in very specific builds or ships, but you wouldn't know that. The only way for you to know that, would be if you looked it up on the internet.

Yeah, it makes sense to make sure that whatever you're buying isn't ♥♥♥♥ (like this game lol), but when you realize that it's essentialy required to use online tools to get anywhere... it's just dissapointing. If I had to rate it, I'd give it like 4/10, it's a solid foundation for what could be a good game.

I feel that the community of this game deserves more than this, there are some very passionate players, like the Fuel Rats (will traverse half the galaxy to make sure you don't die out in space), and I think it's just sad that Frontier focused on making money rather than improving the product. They shouldn't bother with making DLC, since they're getting out at a rate similar to Team Fortress updates. They should just rethink every part of the game design, and make a godd*mn sequel.
