Early Access Review
This review is for local 2P Co-op which is the only mode I've played. Bottom line: this game is a total riot.

I bought this game because I love Megaman X, expecting the roguelike mechanics to be negligable. My biggest gripe with roguelikes is that I usually feel as though the randomly generated stages and items do not significantly affect how I play or force me to adapt. (I love Risk of Rain and Torchlight, but itemization has never affected my playstyle).

20XX uses RNG and roguelike mechanics in a meaningful way. For instance, the playthrough where we got a dash shield vs the time we somehow rolled 3 mario hats and jet boots felt way differently, and even guided how we approached levels.

What I liked:
- Excellent visibility. Screen stretches SSB style so if your buddy screws up a segment or is way ahead of you, it's not disruptive to either of you.

- Option to downsize the UI. The UI blocked me and got me killed a few times but once I downsized it to 75% I never had a problem. (I don't think this would be an issue 1P Solo)

- It's fun to choose different boss rewards and strategize item and power build with your partner!

- With four different character combos (as in, which of you is playing which character), there's a lot of game replayability in a way that 1P Solo might not have. Asymmetric co-op is exciting.

So even if you're not a big Megaman X fan or are disillusioned with Mighty No. 9, if you want a badass 2P co-op, this is a real gem with heaps of replayability.
