I've been playing this game for years, and it has only gotten better with the updates it continues to receive. An investigative puzzle game with a horror-wrapper, I find it best to play with friends, but it is also fun to play solo. It's also entertaining at all skill levels, allowing for casual play as well as high-level, detail-oriented play. This is the sort of game that has been very fun even in early access, and I don't feel worried about getting too fatigued on it by the time a full release comes along.

Minimalistic, but very compelling and intuitive. INSIDE is one of those games that's a bit hard to describe beyond being a simple puzzle-platformer, and really benefits from simply sitting down and experiencing it. And given that it takes around 4 hours to beat, playing through the game isn't a huge commitment. I'd say it's worth the full price; even better if you can get it on a sale, which it goes on often.

This game gets a lot right. It's fun and charming, and while it's not the hardest game out there, it has the occasional challenge waiting for you. The developers seem to update it often, and it's clear that there's a lot more to come. Personally, I'm excited for it. I really think this game is worth your time.

I've always loved tycoon style games, but I haven't really gotten into one that isn't already 10+ years old (beyond Harvest Moon, which is a bit more than just a tycoon game). Luckily, Game Dev Tycoon didn't disappoint.

It's got a nifty sense of humor, and provides a little bit of history as you start with the video game boom in the 80s and work your way up past 'present day.' It'll also give you a little insight into how real game developers think--why some genres are so over-used, the desire to get a game started before the big gaming convention launches, the desire to hype your game even if you aren't sure it will do well. The little production bubbles are satisfying, watching cash rolls in only makes you want more. I only wish there were a few more consoles featured, but luckily there are mods for that!

There are a few genres and consoles that are a bit 'OP', as in you'd be silly *not* to choose them, but I guess that's sort of true to life, in a way. Genres you may like may not be what everyone else likes, after all. The campaign is also a bit short, although you can keep playing after you 'finish.' But, I suppose once you achieve everything, train your staff into super-producers, find all the easter eggs, and have so much money that there's no such thing as 'waste,' there's not much to do afterwards. Starting over from the beginning gives you different starting topics, which in turn will encourage different starting tactics, but it's still basically same ol' (especially since now you know all the tricks). But really, that's just fine! It doesn't make it a 'bad game' at all, and it will still provide hours of entertainment regardless (provided you enjoy games like this, of course).
