Couldn't recommend the game more. To keep it brief:

Biggest Weakness: Repetition.
Biggest Strength: Combat is fun, story is good. Sort of generic, but 10/10. DLC even more so.

Notes:
- This is definitely a good "ooh look I'm badass" power fantasy game.
- Jin Sakai is not always the most compelling character, but he is cool as well as deeply flawed - it's a good story about how he has to diverge from honor and become a "necessary evil."
- Cool and mostly accurate outfits.
- Needless to say, the game is very pretty. (Although I did experience some minor visual glitches that some others seem to share upon recently upgrading to the AMD Radeon 6750 XT graphics card, like colors wigging out and the occasional flashbang).
- Funny side characters. Sensei Ishikawa is awesome. Lady Masako is the coolest gay old lady.
- The end made me cry, but Yuriko's side quest made me cry more.

Overall, it's really good. A fantastic journey that anyone should play even just to have it under their belt.

This game was absolutely stellar. The cinematography was breathtaking and the story, inspired by fairytales and writing, was too amazing. It was a respectable Soulslike and felt fair throughout most of the game; not without its flaws, mind you, but the developers had a clear passion for their game. Their inspiration from FROMSOFTWARE titles was indeed very apparent which has been a point of criticism for a lot of players, but I didn't mind it very much as a lover of said titles. Still, the game had a lot of unique mechanics and features and was very story-intensive with charming characters that I grew to appreciate. There were several bosses that offered me a bit of a challenge, but none of them felt too hard to beat, which I think is a recurring incentive to keep playing these games for a sense of gratification upon winning. Also, the bosses generally had really cool designs and concepts, and parrying (perfect guarding) their movesets became addicting. Each boss has their weaknesses which was very cool to utilize and witness. The weapons and attire were pretty neat — so much so that I collected them all and I can only hope more will be added in any future DLC or expansion (which is hinted at in an ending cutscene, also following the idea of a fairytale). The game has excellent replayability for at least 3 runs, having offered 3 different endings— and the ”true” ending is one to awe at, in my opinion. I think the developers have a solid and gripping concept here and I can't wait to see what's to come. I recommend this to all of my friends and any Souls -enjoyer out there for a positive experience.
