A fair amount of games are online only now days because we are always connected anyways. The always online even makes sense as they are releasing the levels episodically which love or hate really encourages replaying of the same levels.

Why replay the same levels? Because they are massive and there is a TON going on at the same time. There are options everywhere. Unlike absolution which was a constant straight forward path, there is simply a wide array of options in this one.

The online mode makes sense in the fact that you need to be online to gain unlocks which work with the online part of the game. You can still play the game offline if you wish but you will be missing out on a huge part of the game which is fun, contracts. Soon to be released are elusive contracts that come with rewards, there is a catch though, you cannot lose or abuse these contracts. If you lose then the contract is lost forever. You will be able to do these contracts based on the knowledge you have of the level, every floor and every possibiliy simply by replaying. The maps really allow you to explore to your hearts content, and do things your way and the best part is that they never get old.

I'm super excited for the future of Hitman and I cannot wait for Sapienza (which looks massive mind you) next month.

If you have your doubts then just get the intro pack for 15 bucks, you get everything that is currently in the game at the moment and each episode will then be 10 bucks, it's a great pricing model albeit not very well marketed.

You only get one mission area, but it supposedly links up with the main game when you buy it. The Area is huge though and there are a lot of different missions you can do in that area.

Game is mission based, not quest giver or discovery based which I like as I don't see MGS as an RPG in open world type combat. That being said there are still discovery components. Like one mission has you find 2 people and eliminate them, you have to look for them, follow their patterns and find the best way to kill them.

If you only care about the story and the main mission campaign then this is not for you but it will give you an insight into what the main game will be about as this is a prequel. If you like MGS, want to show support for them bringing it to PC, want to start building the hype train to MGS V, want to see some GORGEOUS cinematics, and do some fun missions at different times of the day/weather effects for each one then this is for sure for you.

The port is solid, KB/M feels fine and I cannot wait for the release.

This game is fantasic; it's like X-com ironmode in the way of perma death, spelunky in the way of high score, and FTL in the way of random interaction. The game is brutal and it should stay that way.

You find items which cost money (money is your score), you hack safes and break fugutives out of prison. The game is entirely RNG based in terms of items and map generation but not based on tactics. Unlike in X-com where you have to pray to the RNG gods that they don't get a crit, you are more responsible if you get caught in general. If you get spotted then you have a chance to escape, but if you don't then you are going down. Weither or not you are able to revive your teamate depends if you have the upgrade to do so.

This game is crack and it's going to be constantly improved. Unlike other companies which promise updates, Klei has an in-game counter till the next patch (just like in Don't starve). This game utilizes stealth in a fun way that will keep me playing for a very long time. You can tell that they have learned a lot from Mark of the Ninja and Don't Starve that makes me super excited to see what the future holds.

If you like RNG turn based tactical crack then buy this game.

Really decent Roguelike Lite. It has permanent things you can earn but you have to earn enough cash in your playthrough to be able to do so. It starts pretty rough and you WILL die as I think the game is impossible to beat without the upgrades, unlike a game like Spelunky where you could beat it the very first time you play as if gives you all the tools you need from the start (you won't though).

That being said, it's still fun and I still need to beat it. I really enjoy playing it with the Wii Classic controller.

It is also a good laugh because there will be times when you get a trait that is simply silly and you know you won't last long.

So straight out of the gate I just want to say that there are STILL issues with Windows 8. Here are the tech issues I noticed and hopefully it is helpful to you. Afterwords I will talk about the gameplay. This is a SPOILER FREE REVIEW.

WINDOWS 8 TECH ISSUES

-Game still crashes when you have the 360 controller plugged in, you can copy over the dinput8.dll from the previous season or download it off the web and put it in the folder and the game will run but you are still unable to use a controller so it would just be easier for you to just unplug it. There may be a work around but not one I have found.

-There still may be issues with save files on windows 8, I am not sure, I just went ahead and copied over the prefs.prop file from both my doc and to the walking dead season 1 folder that had the latest time stamp. Because with season 1 everytime there was a new episode I had to copy over the file to the directory that needed it. The reason I preemptively did this was because I saw people on the forums having issues with the game finding the save files and I didn't have an issues after doing this.

-Since I am unable to use the controller I have to do events with the Mouse and Keyboard, since I run dual monitor there would be events where I had to move my mouse over to the right and when I clicked it would minimize the game, there was a time where I lose my mouse cursor in game and was unable to make a proper selection in time, I had to reload from a quicksave and redo an event. Since the game is fullscreen, it would be nice if it locked the mouse cursor.

GAMEPLAY

So I am the kind of person who turns on minimal UI in a game like this, you owe it to yourself to play the environment and not the indicators. It really helps keep the fourth wall in place and keep you in what is going on. It's not that hard to think to yourself "if I was here, what would I check?" I think we are in a age where games help you a little TOO much and I am thankful for Telltale for putting this option in the game.

Quicktime events are fun, what?! I didn't really like the quicktime events too much in season 1, hell I don't like quicktime events period but I have always felt that fit the realm of The Walking Dead and didn't turn my nose up at it too much. In Season 2 Episode one, they felt fun and intense with what was going on. Many times while invisioning myself in a little girls shoes, I imagined what would it be like to have to do these things quick and it really brought me deeper into the story.

Not much to say about gameplay as this is a story driven game, but if you find your self thinking things are too easy and think there is no challenge, I would really encourage you to turn on minimal UI. There is hardly any pixil hunting and it's not as bad as you might think.

STORY Spoiler free

Episode One: All That Remains

So I am going to go right out and say that you play as Clementine, it shouldn't be a spoiler as Telltale has made this really apparent and she is on the cover image. Imagine the type of story you will be playing. You are no longer a grown man taking care of a child and teaching her how to defend herself, you are now the child dealing with a bunch of people in this new fresh hostile world. The way it seems to work in the walking dead universe is that people who were all set with how society works has had their reality shattered and kids who are fresh to the world see everything they know change in front of them, this is the new world they live in and they will have to sometimes take actions that they never thought they would have to take and be better fit for it since this is now the life they know instead of the life they have built.

Right out of the gate the game draws you back into the universe of Telltale walkingdead, the music, the atmo and the voices that you remember. The game takes turns that you expect and don't expect and nearly had me in man-tears right out of the gate. It really plays on the emotions you have built up in season one and uses that for a beautiful story experience that makes you want more.

I seriously cannot wait for the next episode. It's really painful waiting for them but it's also really good as it builds up talking points with people discussing wtf happened and what we will hopefully see.

Without getting into spoilers, I will say that this game has obviously learned from season one and you really really want your saves and decitions from season one to be applied to this experience. There will be times that you will laugh like a crazy person and times when you just go "...."
