As someone who never played an Armored Core before, but enjoyed other FromSoft games, this game is a blast. The gameplay feels smooth and engaging. The world building is traditionally vague and open. It slowly gets you engaged with all the characters and their motivations.

It is by far the best NG+ in any FromSoft game - closely followed by Dark Souls 2. Till NG++ I discovered new missions, story bits and parts for customisation. The latter being a big selling point and frankly speaking a good chunk of my playing time. Someone can create wildly different Mechs with their own strengths and weaknesses.

If you're looking for a fast-paced action game, this is for you. It is shortwhile and easy to pick up. It does not require hours of investment to get to the fun part. It starts with it and gets you invested with the complex customisation and world.

Dying Light 2 is for me personally a disappointment. I struggle to point out any good things, as I have the first game vividly in my mind. In a direct comparison it loses for me in every aspect. It is just a slog.

The open world is callous and doesn't feel rewarding. Skill tree, crafting are as uncreative as it gets. Side quests as well as other activities are generic. Story decisions are meaningless on the broader scale as there are certain points destined to happen anyway, conflict feels forced and some characters (including the main character) act stupid just so that things are happening for the sake of happening. The story is predictable and void of any creative input. Parkour is clunky and less fluid than in the first game. The same goes for combat.

TL;DR:

It feels like a downgrade from the first game in almost every aspect. Fighting, parkour, story and characters are just a let down. If you are interested in the premise get the first game.

For everyone who likes the Yakuza games and is open for change this game will provide a classic Yakuza experience with new ideas. The immersion and the weird humor remain a big part in this entry as well. Whose who did not have any experience with the series so far can expect a well-thought turn-based RPG in a modern day scenario - which is unusual, however, well executed.

Although I think the game itself is good, there are some points destructing the game at his current state:

1. There is no party-system for you and your friends which means if you want to play together you either create a private game or join and leave multiple lobbies until you find your companion. This results in waiting and frustrating other players who wait in a lobby. It is pure luck to get into the same lobby. Personally I think in a multiplayer-game which is based on co-op it is just plain stupid not to include that, anyway they are working on it.

2. Some people mentioned big problems with latency and diverse connection problems. As it is right now I can not agree with these statements, but I think it is an issue for many players that should be fixed.

3. A server-browser would be nice or some kind of lobby-browser.

4. Sometimes you click on "join a lobby" and it instantly failed. Why? I mean there should not be an issue with players right?

Additionally other players have problems with matchmaking, too few configuration options, framerate-issues etc.
I never experienced these points, nevertheless I think it is worth mentioning.

TL;DR Shall I buy it? Not yet. Just wait a few weeks - then it is hopefully enjoyable.

If the main points are fixed, I will happily change this into a positive review.

EDIT:

1. Survive with friends is finally in the game! You are now able to build groups and search for games. Although it takes some time depending on the numbers of players in the group, it is much more enjoyable right now.

2. I experienced in my playtime just once a steam disconnect. The latency of each game depends on the killer - if you play in Vietnam, you will most likely get a killer from there.

3. If they improve the lobby-finding, a lobby-browser is not needed, but would be a nice thing.

4. This point remains, but also depends on download-region.

TL;DR

I think, as it is right now, you can purchase this game. It makes a lot of fun, especially with friends. Some bugs may hurt the overall experience, but in Bethesda games no one is complaining, too - right?
