Incredible game, but one of the worst (if not THE worst) PC port I've ever encountered. Vsync is all but a necessity now, given that everyone's PC can bulldoze this game as far as system requirements now, but not only does it not work, outside programs that force Vsync have no effect. Controller mapping, even with external programs, doesn't work.

The frame time is completely inconsistent, so FPS drops to 51 or lower are very common, causing unplayable stutter. Vsync doesn't prevent screen tearing, nor does it lock the frame rate to your monitor, so it might as well not exist. Game looks great and is still loads of fun, but unplayable in its current state and almost guarrenteed to never be fixed.

EDIT 28/3/2020: Have fixed both the Vsync issue and the controller issue using just Steam and the Nvidia control panel. It IS possible to get this game to work compotently, but the stuttering issue remains. While not game breaking, very annoying, and even if you don't have to use an external program, the sheer legwork to get a controller to operate for a console ported game and to stop the screen from tearing is ludicrous.

EDIT 17/10/2023: With EaglePatchAC2, I can now fully recommend this game. The frame skipping is fixed, controller support comes straight out the box, the visuals are improved, everything just works. A great title, and a foundational one for the era of gaming that succeeded it
