A unique game mechanic, but poorly explained why I have to jump only to the white platforms and can't just walk. Story captivated me at the beginning with a bit of the mysteriousness of trying to find out what's happening in the world. But the control issues and combat pacing means I won't finish this game.

Combat pacing and movement pacing is poor due to charging attack, design of how the missiles work (poor keyboard and mouse controls).

godotwashere said it best in their review 3 years ago and this is still true:
"they didn't even take the time to make functional keyboard and mouse controls on this version. They recommend a controller instead."

So no customizable controls in this game. The devs force you to use 2 different predetermined layouts (that heavily depend on the mouse buttons and combinations of the mouse buttons during combat) and that's it.

Don't buy this game if you don't have a controller and even then you should probably pass on it because of the issues with the combat pacing.

TLDR:
Use a controller or it'll play like a poor PC port.
Combat pacing feels off cause of mechanics/controls.

Edit: The art and music in this game is fantastic. I loved the visual and auditory experience especially when exploring new biomes/areas.

The best part about this game is the fact that you can upload your own songs! Makes the game a lot more fun when you get to surf your own tracks.

This game definitely eats up my time, in a good way. I keep telling myself one more turn, but end up playing all night. Highly addictive and its a lot of fun. I have trouble with the late game because of all the units, so my pc tends to be very slow. I try to only play on regular maps instead of the huge maps with max players and marathon pace. This seemed to help. I wish it weren't a problem though. Even with 6gb of ram and a nividia GTS250 i still have problems, so I think this is a problem with the game's code rather than my hardware being the issue.

The amazing backgrounds and artistic style of this game, combined with the atmospheric soundtrack make this game a gem to play. The puzzles keep you continually challenged throughout. Braid uses time manipulation as a tool for problem solving and manupulating the game environment in ways that keeps the game interesting, fun, intriguing, and challenging until the very end. Similar to reading a novel by Dan Brown, I can't stop playing this game until I've reached the very end. A+++++++++++++ Would do business with again! If I came as quickly as the package arrived, my wife would leave me!
