Wonderful time sink of a deckbuilding roguelite RPG set in a dark medieval fantasy world with King Arthur folklore as its central theme. One doesn't need to be well-versed in medieval mythology to quickly become immersed in Tainted Grail's grim world, as it has a magical sense of appealing to nostalgia, invoking memories of games like Diablo II and Gauntlet. Strategy plays a large role in bending the RNG to your will, but the game reminds you often enough that you aren't truly in control - and without completely shattering your little gamer soul. Each death brings new opportunities, making them less frustrating and more exciting. Pretty cool game.

I am hesitant to recommend games like this while in EA, especially after the Freemen: Guerrilla Warfare fiasco, but the developer communicates well with the community about updates and the base game performs quite well as-is. Despite being fairly bare bones at the moment, it's still enjoyable. As long as the developer continues to update the game and maintain its relationship with the community as it stands, it'll be pretty difficult for it to get worse.

PAYDAY 2 takes place in a dystopian alternate universe United States, where there are only 4 occupations left in the grossly-overpopulated megacity of Washington D.C., (which now encompasses the entirety of the continental United States): ruthless yet multi-faceted career criminal, megacop, mercenary, or bullet sponge for one of the 3 aforementioned occupations. Drugs, guns, and murder fill the oddly clean streets. Obesity is no longer a problem in the US, as the survival of the fittest is in full swing, with all able-bodied adults either fleeing from bullets or running towards them. It paints a truly grim picture of an America that could be, and serves as a wonderfully insightful criticism of the H3H3 podcast and world in general.

I hope the devs were only tracking blinks and not tears.

Ruthless roguelike deck-building/turn-based fighting game with an underlying action movie theme. Devs are active in updating the game, and despite frustrating you with the promise of constant deaths, seem dedicated to delivering a quality, polished game.
The art style is minimalist and aesthetically pleasing, and the devs recently added a Dark Mode, which makes a surprisingly big (positive) difference aesthetically. As previously mentioned, you are practically guaranteed to die constantly, and as it is a deck-builder you may die at the hands of the merciless RNJesus at any time.
Despite this, gameplay is fun enough to shrug off deaths and jump back in. The game is easily put down and return to at any time as well. A beautiful embellishing feature of the game is its playback mode, allowing for cinematic replays of your fights. Combine this with the turn-based and deck-building elements, the game fulfills its underlying action movie theme beautifully - and playing back those fights is dummy satisfying.

GTFO gives unsuspecting players the illusion that firepower and numbers can overwhelm any enemy and overcome any objective; after all, most co-op shooters operate this way. Instead, anyone who enters a Rundown unprepared is stricken with terror, finding themselves nearly as helpless as in games like Amnesia.
GTFO rewards patience with mercy, staving off the inevitable. You WILL die. You will feel anxious, hopeless, and terrified. You will feel like a team of backyard airsoft enthusiasts dropped in the middle of a Ridley Scott-inspired dystopian hellscape, and you will LIKE IT.
It's a hardcore co-op horror shooter done right, and the devs are phenomenal; S-tier community engagement a la continuing Rundown updates with new content, inspiration drawn from Alien, references to iconic 90s grunge artists... what more do I need to say? (other than the gameplay is fun and dynamic, mechanics feel great, the visuals are incredible, and it feels like what a "AAA" game should actually be...)

Not better than its predecessor in my opinion, but still a great RTS. A healthy dose of realism is present in CoH 2, though, something I felt the original game had too little of. Infantry squads in CoH 1 fought like stormtroopers half the time, but in CoH 2 they go ham. Worth picking up if you like WW2/RTS games.

Manages to scratch the itch that BR games seem to be causing everyone these days, but without a majority of the frustration that comes with similar titles. I haven't played since Season 2 (writing this as of Season 8) but I am pretty impressed at where the game is at now - being an EA title doesn't bog it down any either.

Great for a fresh Windows install. Game Boost seems to help with performance a tad bit, but won't really make a difference with higher-end parts.
