Reminds me of the good ol' days of playing Gauntlet with friends on N64. It's a ridiculously fun and simple rogue-like that anybody can pick up and play, and makes for a great LAN party. Highly recommended.

If you were a fan of the original Half-Life, or have not played it because you are worried about it being "dated", Black Mesa is a must play. It takes everything that made the first game great and then expands upon it, and the modern graphics both enhance the immersion and provide a "fresh" feeling for returning players. This game is truly a labor of love, and the developers should be proud of themselves.

a good xcom-like squad-based strategy game. its biggest shortcoming so far, in my opinion, is how ridiculously lengthy the missions get. it quickly turns into what seems like a drawn out game of risk come the farm mission, which is obnoxious. despite this, it's still worth playing, and although it is simple functionally, it requires a good amount of critical thinking that keeps it entertaining.

fantastic slavic-made isometric RPG that pays homage to games like wasteland and the original fallouts. the story is engaging enough to keep you interested in it, and the side content is just as interesting and plentiful as well. the game can be a bit abysmally unforgiving at times, but that's the nature of these types of games.
overall, if you are a fan of classic RPGs like fallout, you will enjoy this game. it is, in essence, the russian version of fallout.

good souls-like co-op RPG

There are plenty of reasons that Dean Hall doesn't deserve your money; after all, base DayZ has been a disaster for years. But, after 7 years, I finally enjoy the game - thanks to mods and community servers. If it weren't for the strong modding community and small pockets of good, nontoxic communities, DayZ would be a bag of smashed as*holes.
