With piss poor pathfinding and units getting stuck to each other in a rat king fashion, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone who doesn't have fond memories from their childhood of playing the original version. If those aren't deal breakers, then this game offers really unique atmosphere from the Stone Age to the end of classical era. There are also some scenarios that I found really fun. These are:

1. Start off with two old Hittite priests in position of trust who venture into Mitanni lands to entice young working men with sweet words to build them an army.
2. Stage a coup d'état to depose the current Emperor of Japan as villagers leeching of the government berry bushes and gold nodes. Just remember to earn bare minimum good boy points by sending The Emperor a share of your leeched gold to not get evicted!

Winter is the time for refactoring.

Best gameplay of all 3 soul games but the world is not as interesting compared to 1st and 2nd. The progression in the world is pretty linear with only a few crossroads to choose to which main boss to progress towards.
