Seriously the game is glorious. Infinite ways to play, things to try and do.
Learning curve is fairly okay (its been ages since ive played the original v:), but shouldnt prove much trouble if you are familiar with games like RimWhorl™ and the like.

Aside from the games content from which I wont spoil much for now, lets focus on basics like:

Graphics - If you played classic df the new Tileset may be scary for you to look at. But give it a chance, it is of ≡exceptional quality≡ and imo really brings the game alive. There are many beautiful ...Sprites i guess... and add a lot of immersion.
If you are new to DF, you may think the game looks clunky or "primitive" even.... but be told that the graphics in this game is really just the surface of the Mountain Top you are getting yourself into.

Music (and sound/atmosphere in general) - Holy hecc, the tune is really up to date. If you enjoy fantasy kinda Guitar strumming, you are in for an earwig. One im getting to enjoy a lot lately as my smooth brain often begins recreating the games many beautiful songs. The other cool part about sound in the game are the Atmospheric sounds of your Castle. A Tavern will sound like a Tavern with drinks being served, glasses and mugs being raised together. Your guildhalls and manufacturing spaces will let you know that your dwarfs work dilligently as you can hear hammers strike metal into shape, stone and wood as well.

An aspect that really adds to the immersion in a great way.


Gameplay - Diggy Diggy Hole, build your pretty mountain home and endure all the hardships the game throws at you. Endure all the hardships you are responsible for because you forgot something or did something wrong. Yes, you should really build a Still before the first Autumn. :)
Endure all the hardships you created yourself because you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ able to in this game. Yes I want the "OfFiCe" of my "eLeCtEd OfFiCiAl" to be a 69x1 tile floor, why do you ask?

Just dont give up if you come to a point of the game being hard or something went wrong. Instead of restarting the game, try to improvise or take extreme measures to save your fortress or go down with your dwarfs. Its what makes this game fun.

There is no internal end point, single goal, final Easter egg or "You Win!" announcement in Dwarf Fortress, therefore, eventually, almost every fortress will fall. The only ones that don't, tend to be very conservative and very boring—and what fun is that? - (DFWiki)

Holy hecc yes this game is incredible. If you played it for some time, hearing the music without explosions, panic attacks and sweating hands will feel odd. Also it is kinda deciptive, as people will tell you the game is hard or something. While it is challenging (fair), its not too tough, if you are able to think outside the box and adapt to the challenge by designing your own ships in the Shipworks before a campaign. Wont spoil anything further. Did I mentoin the story is a blast? :V

Das Spiel ist eigentlich so alles in allem sehr nett und lässt mich wünschen das Jahr 1981 mit eigenen Augen erleben zu dürfen.

I mean sure I paid for it originally, but I got a lot of fun out of the spent buxx.
Now its free to play and while some could argue they follow a mean moneygrabing scheme are kinda right....

But the game was "dead" before on steam and the new influx of players and content is awesome. Fall guys x assassins creed crossover is absolutely cool. Kinda weird new maps/games but still fun competition.

Just try it out for yourselves. :)

Set up like an old style Fightergame, made me remember the good old days when disputes would be resolved by hot-seat 1v1 games. Had a similiar moment with my roomie and disputes where quickly forgotten.

Moves are fun and the attention to detail is great. One moment without attention in a fight can be your last as a single good hit is enough to kill you.

The games content is not very deep so far, basicly allowing you to practice and fight against KI or other human players (Steam remote play works very well with this game). Additionally, there is a mode where you get to fight KI, where your price is a little history fact about the time the game plays in.

Hope this game gets developed further and am curious to see where the developers want to go with Hellish Quart. :)

OMG SO THIS IS THE DRAGON (actually wyvern) GAME TO GO TO

It features:

- unbalanced matchmaking
- 3 (4) gamemodes, classic remakes of Bloodmoney (CoDWarzone), Capture the flag (but you have to bring the flag to varying gates) and the traditional TDM (team fortress)
- get your butt blasted by 和你媽媽睡
- have a team full of lvl 2-10 (ppl are new i get it but why do we get to face enemies who are COMPLETELY AWARE OF EVERY GAME ASPECT WHILE WE NOOBS ARE TRYING TO LEARN [LVL27 currently]) while facing a clan full of lvl 30+ foes ( i know technically point one but who cares)
- being disappointed by daily quests that dont spoil you the item you want after full week (e gG)
- teleporting foes (no regional servers)
- +50 fireballs chasing you, cornering every obstacle while yours cant even hit an enemy out in the open?????????????????

Most importantly: - cute dragon hatchlings that you want to see and mature
- basicly very possibly achievable aeesthetics
- fair (still paywall, but secretly discounting u once lvl 15) pay to skin aesthetics
- NO P2W (only aesthetics in shop, moral boost disaccounted of)

Idk honestly. Its a tough game, sometimes you get good mates who are capable and win, sometimes you basicly get challenger space probe AI ppl who cant calculate 2+2 and let you down

Its fine to me because i really like the aesthetics of the game and also like to flamegrill ppl flying in front of me who play worse than me.

give it a shot, its free and very early (season 0), and maybe they can steam (haha get it) iron the flaws out. id like to see it succeed and maybe with a bigger player base the game would improve after all.

I rate 6.9/10 having fun being in mainmenu watching my dragon (wyvern) scream. If you like any of the mentoined things, or the not "mentoined" things (GREAT challenge), try it out at least once.
The furry dragon (wyvern) ♥♥♥♥ in your playlist probably have already.

Decided to give it another shot as friends wanted to play with me and...

Nothing much has improved to be honest. Its still Season 0, it is still the same gamemodes (Except the addition of Event based Free for All/Deathmatch).

Another change (For the worse.) is that you cant select freely which gamemode you want to play as its now split up in ranked and unranked, while unranked simply is TDM and Bloodmoney grouped together and the Game decides what you get to play.

Also WHAT IN THE LOVE OF ♥♥♥♥ IS WRONG WITH THE CHEATERS IN THIS GAME:

Now you have ppl simply avoiding every shot you take, have 0 Cooldowns on abilities and generally just ♥♥♥♥ in your face. There are people who simply (in Bloodmoney gamemode) farm the gold all the time but literally cant be fought as their 0 cooldown on their abilities means they just go ahead and cancel out your fireballs ALL THE TIME or in case of Phantoms just go constantly invisible when targeted.... Had a game where some guy didnt bring their gold home until the end of the round, carrying 2000 gold with half of our team trying to hunt him down and failing. There is no "report cheater" function, game ♥♥♥♥♥ literally in your face. There isnt even an all chat function to call out cheaters. (At this point during angry review edit time I remember they added a voicechat function which I immediatly turned off during the first round, so you gotta give the devs that)

Game is broken, first I was sad to see on steamcharts only 180 active players (during current event it raised to about 300 [double exp]), but now I simply understand why people dont want to play this game.

I want to play and want to enjoy but it feels as if the Devs do not care much about the little player base that is left at this point. Kinda sad. But will try to play as long as my patience runs out probably, but when I played today I did 5 matches and about 2 of em were in my opinion fair, even though we only won 1.

If any Dev might read this, just google "Century Age of Dragon" hacks and you will find sources for Cheats in your game, its not really that hard. The only guide for this game also literally tells you to cheat or abandon the game, thats the state of where its at.

Maybe will review if things improve. Have a good one.
