It is a beutiful game. I even teared up a little a couple of times while playing. Torn Away touches on a difficult subject and handles it well. Gameplay is not unique or complicated, but it does not have to be. In my opinion this is a narrative experience first of all.
I see a lot of work and a lot of love that was put into this project. It plays smoothly, I have not had any issues with bugs or lags.
So, if you like interactive stories and\or narrative-driven games, this can become a good addition to your collection.

Well. I don't even know where to start. There are a few things I find bad in this game.
Some of my friends didn't like it because it is based on the V5 core book, and I don't really care about that. But as a visual novel, it is just not good at all. Visuals are nice there, music is also fine. The main story tries to be accurate to VTM atmosphere, where your character is not a hero, he is a pawn and your actions are meaningless in the big picture. But this game made me feel like all the pieces on the board were already there and the MC is an extra that nobody needs. Personally I don't really get the reasons why MC just *had to* be at the place of story climax, or why they *had to be* the one running all those errands that progressed the plot. MC's involvement in things felt forced. Your interactions with NPCs doesn't really change anything, so does your clan - ending for the main story is always the same. So I just feel like this whole game just had no meaning, and not in a good way like VTM games are supposed to be.
The "journey" to the end is also disappointing. Some parts of the plot are plain boring to read, and I don't even know if that is the writing or the story itself. Honestly, probably both.
And as for "replayability" marketing for this was talking about - there is none. At least for me. I would like to collect come more achievements or choose a different clan. But you can't save your game before you make choices to go back to them later. You have to just replay the whole game each time, and you can't skip dialogues you had already read. So it just kills all the curiosity I may have had for the other options.

It is absolutely beutiful. But it is not a traditional romantic VN in any way. If you would like your experience to be nice and fluffy, I sugest you go read Twilight or something.
This game is very different from the first RE installement. There are no truly "happy" endings, but imo it is very much justified by the lore of this game and characters' background.
If you like sad stuf with heavy undertones, RE:H can be a good thing to spend a couple (dozens) of hours on and then vent about how you agree or disagree with the main messege of the plot. But you would have to play through all of the secret endings to see that.
The artwork is gorgeous.
Markus is now my husbando for life.
Would recommend, 10 good VTM:B fanfictions out of 10.
