Dark Souls 3 keeps basic features characteristic for this series and it gives mixed effect. Game has everything which made Souls popular and it was done quite well.

On the other side, it seems like developer's laziness has become so big that they decided to copy content from Dark Souls 1 & 2: Anor Londo, Silver Knights, Dragon's Stones (Torso and Head), Archdragon Peak (Dragon Shrine), covenants (Sun, Darkmoon, Way of Blue), Darkwraiths, lots of equipment etc. I don't mind keeping Souls personality by putting some elements of previous parts of the series but number of those is too big.

Another issue is game's performance. After the perfect PC version of Dark Souls 2 I didn't expect to experience that amount of crashes and so low FPS in DS3.

After getting over it, game gives so much fun and I'll probably be playing this for more 30 hours (~80h now). That's still our beloved Dark Souls.

The game is about getting from the 100th floor to the bottom by scavenging rooms and fighting infected. Finishing takes max 2-3 attemtps on Easy but there are also 3 other difficulties. The idea of the game mechanics gives players the availability (requirement) to upgrade shelter on the top floor, craft weapons, make food etc. It was made well but there is an issue which makes this game somewhat annoying. The problem is the RNG which is not balanced at all. It makes some failures like missing 95% hit 2 times in 5 attempts or 71% hit 3 times in a row. Similar problem is with randomly-placed resources. You might not find anything to eat in about 10 floors in a row (same situation could happen with crafting reources). You have to depend more on your luck than probability and fairness.

To sum up, it is not a bad game but needs some improvement.

KiD tells a story about Mondo Zappa who works for Bryan Execution Firm which focues on killing dangerous criminals around the world. The game presents the world where people can become cyborgs, have sort of magical skills and can easily travel even to the Moon. Being rescued by an unicorn or fighting in Alice's Wonderland is nothing extraordinary there. The plot contains lots of humour and original themes which kept me with this story for so long. Some people might be confused understaing the plot and others might say there's no story but that's not true. The game requires to check some out-of-the-game things like "Moon River" song to be properly understood.

The first unique thing I've noticed after turning the game for the first time is the graphical design. KiD keeps stylish, even cinematic view on a situation where black blends with the rest of colors or even covers most of a screen. The overall effect is quite good but isn't remarkable in any way. Audio has similar situation. It stays well for the entire time. There is only one song which is always being played in the main menu. Moreover it's a very monotonous track. The rest of the soundtrack is varied. Many levels have their own songs.

KiD hasn't difficult gameplay. Learning how to fight, block and dodge is simple and gives the opportunity to come quickly into the game. The only problem is there's only one melee weapon (there's also musselback but I treat it like an supplement) which has made me feel the big lack of the melee-combat variety. Ranged weapons are useful but it's not necessary to unlock any of them to finish the game. Default one is enough. Mondo's abilities can be upgraded in 3 categories: attack, sub weapon and special skills. Many of them makes the big impact on the gameplay, especially on higher difficulties.

The plot is divided into chapters and takes about 7 hours. Most chapters take about 30 minutes but some are shorter (5-10 minutes). All of them includes multistage boss fights which I've enjoyed the most. There are also procedurally-unlocked sub-missions which takes just few minutes and aren't really hard. The game includes 20 challenge missions which can be unlocked by finding the character called Scarlett during the playtrough. The most original mode in the game are Gigolo missions which are simple, funny and... expensive.

The biggest problem in KiD are technical issues. FPS drops in specific moments and are unavoidable but at least it doesn't affect much on gameplay. Main issue is the black screen during the final area in Chapter 3 which shows when I instantly skip the cutscene. The next thing is single-sword combat which might become monotonous after some time. I also suffered a bit by this bipolar graphic style which made me confused few times because of the blackness embracing most of the screen. The game defends itself by showing well-written plot full of comedy and original ideas. Also number and variety of missions makes this game better.

+excellent soundtrack
+modern design
+plot is good as opposed to what it seems
+so many weapons to use
+lot of ways to make your own fighting style
+long enough
+many collectibles
+lots of reasons to play again (collectibles, difficuilties, unlockables, etc.)
+every difficuilty makes the game quite different (not only because of damage taken/given but also changing kinds of enemies and their placing)
+variety of enemies and force you to use all of available weapons
+young, modern Dante is still cool

-could have a bit more boss fights

It's like the 2.5D Dark Souls in Bloodborne stylistic. Everything (music, graphics etc.) works fine. Gameplay is challenging, especially at the beginning.

Graphically unique. Cartoon style works well with black and white environment. Audio also puts so much into the atmosphere and gaming experience, especially with headphones but it's nothing remarkable. Scary moments occur during the entire game and they are really various. The big problem is that the majority of the game is just walking. Moreover, the price isn't equal to the time a common player spends on this title because you can complete this game in 100% in about 2 hours. In spite of all I would recommend this game but only if the price is really lower than the present one (15€).
