As a fan of the Gothic series, I'm very impressed. The way the game plays out is very similar in a lot of ways, with regard to exploration, loot, questing, towns, levelling, training, etc. The balance of the different cultures / factions / environments / technologies is very believable and while presenting vastly varied thematic content, never seems to really break your immersion. The story and lore seems very well put together. (Once you get some way into the game, anyway - at the beginning you're like "wtf? what is this ♥♥♥♥?" lol.), but as you get further into the game and get a sense of the story and the setting, the game really starts to show its shine. It can be challenging knowing what to do and where to go at the beginning since you start off so weak compared to everything around you and have to slowly grind your way up. The feeling of slowly clearing out large slabs of hostile unknown landscape (permenantly) is a glorious throwback to the series and a credit to the genre. The hand crafted world and deliberately placed threats, rewards and challenges makes everything worth discovering and interacting with - and when you finally get your head around the intensely organic planetscape around you and start to tame it to your will, it really feels like you're making a difference in Magalan. Such feels, much wow, what Gothic.

This is honestly an incredible gem of a game. The main things I would highlight are simplicity, depth, exploration, strategy, rogue-like permadeath, mystery, sci-fi, storytelling. It has a subtle cult-like Lovecraft feel to it, focussed around the horrific / macabre / bizarre. It feels as though it's somehow evolved out of board / card game / rpg culture. I would recommend it if you're a fan of any of the above. Expect to fail a lot and slowly get the hang of things.
Almost defies comparison to another title - you just have to try it out!

You know... I wasn't expecting much from this, based off the trailers, but I am pleasantly surprised with the depth, soberness and severity with which this title succeeds in exploring the characters and world of Batman and Gotham City in true Telltale style.

Damn, this is really amazing.... It allows you to create, set up and play (solo, with friends or randoms) basically any tapletop game you can think of. Emulate a masterpiece, join someone else's game or make a whole new thang. It's really very impressive.

Love it already. Love the tone, love the visuals, the combat and the narration so far. Feels like The Witcher 1 in the Body of the Witcher 2 with some extra zing and a dash of open world. So far not disappointed.

111/16 would Aard again.

Early Access Review
Walked for 2 hours in the wilderness before finding a road. Followed road for 1 hour til it ended with cinderblocks. Followed fork in road til it turned to dirt. Walked in random direction for 40 minutes. Found empty fields. Found some dead cars. Found some trashed trailers. Followed road to gas station. Noticed I was dying of hunger and thirst. Ate a lot of berries to fix hunger and thirst. Figured out how to unwrap bundle of gauze. About to put on gauze and arrows start hitting floor and walls around me. Jumped up and ran around in circles around the 4 guys attacking me trying to tell them not to fight me. Decided to start fighting back. Killed 3 of them with 40 percent health remaining. Get 3 hits into last dude as he starts screaming, "I'm so screwed! I'm so screwed!" And runs away. Follow him to finish the kill. Get a lag spike. You Died. Respawn. Game Loading. Spawn in rain. Lots of rain. Can't see anything. Can't hear anything. Can't Find anything. Walk for 20 minutes. Finally find road. Road leads to vast empty town plots. Nothing anywhere. Follow empty fields. Find Trashed Caravans with and 16 shotgun shells. Found a church with a shotgun inside. Walk to forest. Walk for 10 minutes. Find town. Fall down ledge. Find some people that seem friendly. Start to talk to them. Start collecting things in house. Take a shotgun blast to the back. Turn around to see dude in bike helm with shotgun. Jump out of the way of another shot. Pull out shotgun. Watch him sht himself and try to get away. Cut him down with buckshot. Loot all his ammo and military backpack and crap ton of gear. Hear arrows hitting around me. Kill 6 guys that are attacking me. Loot their stuff. Finish looting the house. See 2 of the six guys lining arrows up on me again. Think it's crazy that they managed to find me again. Run at them. Buck them down. Get some food from the next house. Hear some arrow shots around me. See the same 2 guys a third time taking shots at me. Buck them down. Decide to leave town. Walk into forest to find some berries. Body flies in the air for no apparent reason. You Died. Stare blankly in confusion as to why I just died. Work up the courage to hit the Respawn button yet again. Game Loading..... You Died. Screw my face up in confusion. Notice that I've spawned in a building in the middle of a 6 man shoot out and died before spawning.

16/4. Would spawn again.
