As far as casual pick-up-and-play games on Steam go, this is my favorite one. Buy it on sale.

Casual game that's decent fun and has pick-up-and-play appeal.

This game is cool and pretty fun. The puzzles are unique and interesting. The game is one big open world maze thing, its stupidly convoluted and finding your way around can be near-impossible especially later in the game. That would be my one complaint.

Here's the dealio. This game isn't really a "game". It's kind of an arthouse experimental thing. It's quite stressful and no fun. If you're interested in playing it, you'll probably like it. I may never want to play it again because at the end of a long work day in-game, the game crashed and I lost all my progress.

The game's scary enough and has a cool concept and a generous number of levels. Loads of fun to play with friends. You'll probably like it!

This game is awesome. Looks great, very atmospheric, and the puzzles are AMAZING.

This turn-based strategy game is reasonably deep and very fun and has tons of value behind it. As far as strategy games go, this one is definitely one of the most accessible. Learning how to play is easy and rewarding. The Brave New World expansion is a must-have as it adds plenty of gameplay elemetns that truly enhance the game altogether. A couple minor gripes: The AI is too easy, and on higher difficulties they are only given advantages like money or science boosts rather than actually playing the game more intelligently and strategically. This is pretty unfair. Essentially they are just given cheats compared to you. Tons of fun if you have eight hours to play a game with friends in a LAN setting (don't let those conniving bastards peek at your screen though). Anyone who loves this game would do themselves a service to check out Civilization 4 which is actually more in-depth than Civ 5 in many regards, because in making Civ 5 more accessible it was dumbed down a bit.
