My personal favorite of the series and a game I play through every few years. I appreciate its black humor and consistent tone which was a bit lost in future entries and the main antagonist is nothing short of a masterwork. I concede that F2 is the better game, but F1 is the better Fallout. If you're new to the isometric games start with this one, for some reason newcomers try to start with Fallout 2 because it's praised more then bounce off of it. Fallout 1 is easier and shorter in all respects which makes for a better first time experience.

I got it for free when it was given out in 2017 and the Steam version seems as stable as the GOG version, both come with the widescreen patch so the difference is mainly what platform you prefer. I chose to play the Steam version this time around for PC/Steam Deck cloud saves and community controller configs and can confirm everything worked great.

It's fun enough in its current state and I'd really love to see the game succeed and expand into the best one yet. Vets will say it's not as good as T2 and I agree but any Tribes at all is a fun time (there is nothing like the dopamine hit received from hitting a crazy spinfusor shot while skiing at mach jesus)

Not as good as Dark Project or Metal Age, but I think it's a pretty solid game in its own right that was overshadowed at the time by the better game Dishonored.

Jet Set Radio Future in all but name for better and for worse. As someone who loves Jet Set Radio, I will tell you the artstyle and music are timeless but the gameplay is just okay and quickly falls apart once the level design demands more than the clunky controls are capable of, JSRF is better in this aspect but still can feel dated and lacking in fluidity.

I think Team Reptile really had the chance here to marry both the timeless aesthetic design of Jet Set with a much more engaging core gameplay loop akin to the Tony Hawk games but unfortunately they didn't; the tricks are very limited with no multiple button inputs, grinding is impossible to fail and manualing is based on a set amount of time rather than a balance meter, there are no spine transfers, special tricks, etc. That easy to learn, hard to master loop that gives Tony Hawk its instant addictiveness and staying power (there is a devoted community playing THUGPRO to this day, me included) is missing here and while that's more accurate to Jet Set Radio, it feels like a missed opportunity and that Team Reptile was more focused on recreating instead of innovating.

It's still a good game and you can tell how much love was put into it, I'd definitely pick it up on sale for $25 or less.
