Beautiful game by a young and emerging indie-development team from Berlin. I always liked the combination of a horror game set during the backdrop of WW1 and there are not so many games out there like that. The game's graphics and environment is good-looking and believable, the soundtrack and audio design draws you right into the world. There is a stylistic emphasis on the surreal and traumatic/psychological which fits nicely with the reality of war and it's effects on a family. Gameplay-wise the game is rather simple and repetitive (one could argue walking simulator), nevertheless I can still safely recommend it to all fans of Horror (Amnesia, Layers of Fear) or WW1.

Crashes 2-3 times a day. After every crash you loose all your gear (DMZ).

Update: In addition to the bugginess and instability of the game, it even perma banned me today for cryptic reason "caserma rhino". Guess I will play something else :D

My personal game of the year 2022. They managed to combine the DNA of the soulsborne titles with an open world RPG and succeeded. The world is vast, the landscapes are beautiful and the dungeons are atmospheric. The game took me around 75 hours to beat while exploring most of the places (and having experience with previous titles). This is huge and I am sure there is even more content to come in the foreseeable future through DLCs. Highly recommended for all fans of From Software games (obviously) and fans of an epic, vast and darkly decaying fantasy world adventure.

Overall a very good storydriven underwater exploration, survival and crafting game. It has a great soundtrack and atmosphere and you can get really creative with building your base the way you want. I would say that the original Subnautica offers still a little bit more in terms of game length, map size and vehicle options but Below Zero is a worthy experience. If you have to pick between the two, start with the original Subnautica and go from there.

As much as I was looking forward to a new Star Wars game which focuses solely on ship battle, I cannot recommend this game at the moment.

The game is crashing for me about once every 30 minutes in the menues and I cannot finish mission 3 as it hard freezes at a specific event and I have to start over again.

Another negative point is the missing customizability of flight controls. I would like to have battlefield-esque flight controls, but it is not possible to rebind the ship's roll to mouse L/R and ship's yaw to keyboard A/D. I have been flying in battlefield games since 1942 and don't want to relearn, use a controller or joystick. Only rebind the keys to my liking. The reticle / crosshair movement is also pretty annoying and cannot be disabled. It bounces all over the screen, depending on where you are flying. Your guns shoot only straight (no gimbal - which is fine). But why do we need a moving reticle then? I would prefer to have it fixed in the center at all times.

Futhermore there are more general design choices which I find a pity. The maximum team size is only five and so there is never a real "fleetbattle" taking place. A third person view of the ships (optional) could also have helped a lot and make the game more cinematic or to get an easier overview. Of course this is a preference and not a big issue. On the other hand, why not provide an option?

The game has nice graphics and audio. I hope that the mentioned issues can be fixed in a future update.

Early Access Review
Innovative core gameplay idea of PvP in a horror PvE setting. Good visuals and heavy atmosphere help to get immersed in the game. The western cowboy theme reminds of Stephen King's Dark Tower at times and works really well with the mutated NPCs and Louisiana's beautiful swamp surroundings (also might remind of Resident Evil 7).

Game is still in Early Access but I hope to see some more PvE content in the future. Current PvP is really harsh as you loose your hunter upon death and you have to start with a new one. Weapon, performance and movement mechanics feel rather clunky although realistic. Due to that the gameplay is more tactical and slow than in your average shooter.

All in all an excellent game that with some more options (1-4 players per team and some PvE mode with more challenging AI, less ammunition etc.) and some more optimization is outstanding and innovative.

Best game in years for me with lots of multiplayer action and is still being improved by a passionate developer team! :)
