if you're going to play Fallout 1-2, I recommend using GoG. If you use Steam, disable cloud saves as it frequently corrupts them. That being said, the games are very charming and fun, but not mechanical masterpieces. for fallout 1 use FIXT, for fallout 2, use the restoration mod by killap. they provide QoL improvements. Also I recommend doing some research if you dont want to spend a billion hours trying different builds.
