i'd love to write a proper review of all the characters, but i'm not good at fighting games and fighting game players really don't respect noob opinions.

So hey good game you should play it.

It's a platformer with a gimmick, which means the game has at least two ways right off the bat to be good. Either the gimmick is impressive or the platforming is impressive.

The gimmick for this game is a cute gravity gun mechanic to solve physics based puzzles. The actual puzzles are very straightforward. It's a bit too easy, which means the puzzles really lack impact. Really needed to amp up the difficulty otherwise i'm falling asleep while playing.

That said a platformer can still be engaging while being easy, so long as it feels good to move around and play. It's not; the movement is floaty and slow. Because of the slow physics all of your interactions feel a bit pillowy and weak, lacking any impact. The game really needs to either pick up the pace so that the platforming feels fun, or put the puzzle aspect to be engaging.

Found this game unengaging and was never grabbed by it.

Good weapon variety.
Fun bosses.

Its essentially the same game as the previous Hexcells, but now it has the restart puzzle feature i mentioned i wanted. They also added the infinitely generated puzzle feature. Nice.

The game is essentially minesweeper with better defined rules, less rng, and paths that go off on thier own that aren't shaped like squares. This means you can work through your checklist of math rules a certain row has, and once you finish that row the new information you have will help you solve other rows of the equation. The branching paths were cool, but sometimes the puzzles got so big that it took a really long time to work through a branch and once i was done i would still have like 5 other paths to work on, which can be pretty exhausting.

The repeat in mechanics really knocks the game down a peg. A big part of why a puzzle is interesting is because it's new; having to work with new problems and rulesets is a big part of why the game is fun. The more i play this puzzle game, the less i enjoy it because it feels exactly the same as the last game.

The no mistakes requirements to unlock new levels also really got on my nerves this time around. Making players constantly have to resolve puzzles they already worked through is frusterating and i found it to be a big turn off from the game. Once i finshed a row of hexes, i was thinking thank god, now i can finally attempt one of the other dozen paths that are in this level.

You'll figure out in the first five minutes if you like this game. It's a good quick puzzle game that feels like if minesweeper was more tightly designed and got a soundtrack.

I like how simple the ruleset is. It's almost too simple; something about this game doesn't feel right to play on a pc where i'd normally be playing League of legends and stuff, but the simplicity of the game makes it very clear that 90% of the time you mess up it's all your fault and not you just making 50/50 coinflips (It does happen occasionally in this game though, especially during the later levels when more rules are introduced). There also a real reason to perfect every level, you can get through the game only making a few mistakes every now and again. Despite this simplicity each level does enough diferent to be interesting and the game is short enough where i don't expect to really lost interest. It's also really easy to pick up and show a younger sibling (if you need to get them off your back). Its a very easy pick up and play game, would recommend for a chill afternoon.

The only thing i would want is a reset level button/pause menu, instead of just having to go to the main menu. Also when you have these really large puzzles, maybe a zoom in feature would be nice.

I wanna give a detailed review of the game but honestly i ♥♥♥♥ at it. I enjoy it despite being really bad, but i feel unqualified to give my opinion.

It's a rogue-lite dungeon crawler with loads of RPG stats and a really unusual positioning-turn-based combat system. Every run you gain gold which you can slowly use to buy upgrades or one time use items and equipment to have your next run be somewhat succesful. It's a decently slow paced game and I liked the creative designs for the one time use items. Wish it wasn't so hard so i could enjoy it more.

As a game it's alright.

Let's be real though, it's pretty much exactly the same experience as 90% of RPG maker games out there. Generic fantasy adventure thing with the same art assets, same shop, and the same combat system. Dungeons are long and often confuzing because the beginning of the dungeon and the end of the dungeon look exactly the same with little to no distinguishing features/ layouts.

All that said, it's decently balanced, the character skill unlocks give you a moment to think, and there was a decent amount of effort put into the story, so if you're like me and you can be a sucker for RPG maker games every once in a while give it a go.

This is a weird game for me to recommend because honestly there isn't a whole lot of game to play. The whole game revolves around a minute long loop of fps gameplay that can overwhelm the player very quickly if they aren't on their toes. Very hard game, but I doubt most people will play it for more than 20 minutes.

A quick warning, this is a very artsy game and that means that if you aren't %100 behind the games core concept you will not enjoy it (especially because the gameplay is a bit lackluster).

The entire game is about a mother badger protecting and feeding her cubs. It's a pretty creative game that's rather slow paced and relaxed. Be prepared for a lot of walking through empty spaces. While you're protecting your cubs from being hunted you must be the hunter and find apples and frogs for your kids to munch on. The kids are pretty cute as well, they follow you everywhere you go and when you stop moving they'll just wonder around and look at stuff. Also when you left click to attack and don't hit anything, you do this tiny roar that all your subs immitate. It's great There's also a dash which is decently fun, but my shift key was broken and there's no key rebinding in the game :(

I'm not sure how the save system works, and while we are talking about a lack of feedback The wordless gameplay can sometimes be unclear as to what you're supposed to do at times. I just sort of run around the area again to find the exit so i didn't have much trouble with that. What really annoyed me what how desaturated all the colors are. You can even see it in the trailer, it's like someone put a thin white sheet over the camera so everything looks brighter and is harder to see.

It's not an amazing game, but if you're looking for something creative give this game a try.

TLDR: Cute game with a great atmosphere. There are some glaring issues with the game but none of them are deal breakers and the game is pretty cheap so I’d recommend it.

This is MechaNika, a point and click adventure game about bringing out Armageddon. You are Nika, the cute girl who is secretly evil. She doesn't fall into the trope of using cuteness to trick people, instead she's a super nerd who loves machines and mechanics. What i love about this game is the characters and the dialog are well done (except the dev self inserts). The entire world has this cutesy (chibi?) art style and then contrasts it with some really messed up characters and the game really pushes it's world.


As seen in the trailer there is a curvy font that is very difficult to read. It's a detail that makes no sense to keep in a game, as the curvy font is functionally unusable. However I think this is a good way to show the games commitment to making an interesting universe.

The gameplay is the game's weakness. The point and click formula works well with the theme and the story but it's very basic. None of the puzzles grow beyond "use item A to do item B" and while these puzzles are great every once the game never evolves past them. Also at least one puzzle almost made me quit with it's ridiculous solution. In one of the first parts of the game you are stuck in a schoolyard with only 2 areas to move around in: the schoolyard and the bathroom. In the schoolyard there is an electric fence, and once you've talked to every NPC there wasn't a clear goal presented to me so i figured i needed to get past the electric fence. After 10 minutes of trying to use paper towels and spray paint to somehow open the gate, I spray-paint a door in the bathroom. It turns out this is the way to make the story progress. This almost made me quit the game within the first half hour, the existence of the electric gate and the lack of direction from the game meant that unless you use the hint system you would naturally be stuck clicking on the gate until you got bored and quit. Just a really unintuitive way to progress very early on in the game.

There are some more minor complaints i have with the game. To bring up the backpack you have to click on Nika, to leave the backpack you can either click on Nika's face in the top left of hit "esc." If you've played any other video game, "esc" probably is the more natural way for you to access your inventory, but you can't use "esc" to bring up the backpack, only to put it away. Felt really clunky. There's also a completely useless save function due to autosaving, and Nika herself even mentions the save function is useless. If the devs knew the save function was useless, why keep it in except in case of bugs. Finally, I really don't like how much stuff exists in the world that you cannot interact with. In the hallway next to your room there are two really cool decorations I wanted to get Nika's input on, but you can't click on them. There isn't any real indication on what is interactable, so seeing a cool object that you can't interact with felt really disappointing.

What the game does really well is build an atmosphere. Every character has issues, some are immediately recognizable and some you must talk to the character to figure out. Many characters seem to have this tragic feel to them, like they all want to be good people but struggle to get past their personal issues. In dealing with those issues, these characters will either ignore or disrespect you as you aren't a factor in their lives. This becomes especially clear when Nika's mother completely ignores her to watch tv. The personal struggle of a lot of these characters leads to them being rather self-centered and give Nika a good incentive to rain death on them all, which is just a great story to depress you.

While we are talking about her, I love how the game fitted Nika's character into the world. With her whole "i want to destroy the world" spiel you expect her to hate every character but she gets along well with a mechanic and a lonely kid who worships(?) meat. Both characters Nika can relate to and it seems natural given her positive demeaner that she would make some friends in this town. It's a small detail that adds depth to the game world and to Nika's character.

Overall the game is delivers a very strong world in a point and click adventure game. Really creative and well executed characters and atmosphere to the game, but I would have loved to see more from the puzzles and the general gameplay. Regardless, if anything I said sounds interesting give the game a shot.
