Writing this review after 2 huge buff patches.

Buy this game. Now. The devs listened to the greater community instead of the 0.1% that whines about everything. It's clear now that the majority of players just want to hop on, slay bugs and dismantle bots, have a great ton of fun with their friends and log off.

I'm glad that the 500kg bomb is now a THREAT rather than a friendly suggestion to get tf out. I'm ecstatic that they managed to IMPROVE the autocannon. I'm elated when the senator secondary now pops hulks and bile titans in the face (with skill). I'm over the moon now when the enemy patrols swarm our extraction zone while waiting for Pelican-1 to haul our sorry asses out of space 'nam.

It's good. The devs listened and they cooked up a Michelin 3-star, 10 course meal in a kitchen that used to serve up military rations. I love feeling overpowered and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around instead of "strategically retreating" all the time due to my guns feeling like peashooters against a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hurricane. We are the majority. Thank you Arrowhead for listening to the majority!

UPDATE: TL;DR- updating my Windows 10 solved all the graphical stuttering issues.

So. After giving up on finding a solution, I decided to update my Windows 10 OS recently, and found that MHW ran without any of the previous issues I experienced before. I held back from updating Windows previously because of the various issues that people have been having with these updates. But leaving this here so people have a transparent picture of what I went through.

No regrets with this game now that I have fixed my graphical stuttering issues. Am considering getting Iceborne now as well. :)

I am not recommending this game because it is currently broken for me after the expansion was released on Steam. Before Iceborne was released, i ran MHW at a smooth 90-100 fps. After it was released, my framerates dropped as below:

1. Astera Gathering Hub: 20-22 fps
2. Astera Tradeyard: 12-16 fps
3. Coral Highlands: 20 fps
4. Elder's Recess: 23 fps

My loading screens average between 30-40 fps. Is it because of the DRM and anti-cheat system? I don't know. But what I do know is that my CPU maxes out at 100% on all cores and yet this game still runs like a a stop-motion puppet show created with powerpoint slides.

CAPCOM, fix your game. Everything else runs >80 fps on my system. Why should MHW be the only exception? I bought this in late 2018 and have had more than 385 hours invested in this game. 385 hours of having fun with a bunch of friends which I can't increase because the game is broken for me.
