Playing this felt like drinking Sangria mixed with a Hopi potion.

No doubt Kate THE Walker is one of the most obvious puns in gaming.



At the end, I kinda expected some magical explication, the genius of Hans and Kate.s destiny unraveled. Instead I got confusion. What is Kate suppose to do from now on? Apparently, Syberia 3. This time I hope she walks faster.

I adore the setting, the art, the atmosphere, the interesting characters and the marvelous story.
It is a joy to discover, especially cylinders and notes. I never even knew how fascinating mammoths are! From the French Alps to Syberia, you are carried away by a music box tune!


So why the thumps down? Here comes the killjoy. The gameplay. Too many screens with nothing (no relevance, no clicks) that you are forced to navigate slowly to reach a place that may or may not advanced your story. Everyone who played this game spent more time walking around tedious screens than actual playing. Yes, I do love the art, but too much showcase without interaction dulls the experience. Also, it can somehow be confusing what you need to do and I bet that many will run out of patience to navigate and simply use a guide, which also destroyes the exploring part.

A very sweet & charming platformer, quite good for casual players or sweet tooths.

The only bitter part is that I won't ever complete the ”without dying” achievements.
At least, no cookie was made on my gameplay.

Imagine the goofy humour of Sam & Max with an Afro-Caribbean twist and a jazzy reggae vibe. SkyGoblin nailed it!
