old school FPS mechanics, combined with some "rougelike" elements, make this a good "ive got half an hour to kill" sort of game to play. fast, fun, but of fairly limited length, and strung along with far too many petty unlockables which you get for each death, which don't add much re-playability on their own while limiting item diversity right out of the gate.

still, a refreshing sort of gameplay that rewards quick fingers and good aim.

lots of places where the game feels fairly uninspired and repetitive (mostly the "action" oriented areas), but overall it is remarkably immersive and memorable, despite its age.

not really a traditional roguelike, but its a cool spin on the concept. the beat-and-pattern based gameplay means you need to be able to think ahead or at least get a good feel for things. if you enjoy the methodical nature of your standard roguelike, then you might want to pass. watch a bit of the game in action and youll know pretty quick if youll like it or not.
