While it can get a bit samey much of that happens far later into the game. For the most part you will find enough new and fun things to keep you playing for quite some time. A great way to speed spooktober considering most places are still locked down.

An excellent couch co-op game with a lot of charm and love put into it. The exploration of each town is fun, the guns are cool, and the special scenarios are great. There is a lot to enjoy in this game and the extra modes make subsequent runs different and enjoyable.

That said the RNG is brutal, and many times it just feels like a run is decided on the 3rd road scenario. Despite this it is still a good game.

As a Hearthstone player I am very pleased with how not Hearthstone the game is. I am seeing some complaints about the game being Pay to win, but frankly that's rather far from the truth,. If you want pay to win go back to hearthstone where playing as a new player is damn near impossible.

ESL is very generous overall, even more so than shadow verse, if only on terms of consistency. I play this a lot on my phone rather than steam, but it's all been rather good overall.

-Daily log on bonus with a legendary for a full month of log ins
-Quests can be completed in story mode which can allow for some quick clears
-moderatly good premade decks with legendaries purchasable with in game gold
-Drops from twitch
-a solo arena for those who play more so casually
-Story modes that can be purchased with gold, carrying many cards with them (the expansions cost like 25 bucks, HS older expansions cost the same, except they are way more stingy when it comes to gold. They killed the expansions and decided to make it all packs because that ultimatly gets more money from people being a 50-80 dollar investment vs the 25 for story expansions)

I don't play too competativly, but enjoy ladder, even if it has it's down sides. Still the game has a lot on offer and gives you a lot without asking for too much in return. Great for casual play. I have spent maybe 20 bucks total on this game and I've already massed quite the collection. I would very much reccomend this game if your looking for a card game that is very generous and overall low pressure.

Early Access Review
I actually played this at PAX East 2017 and bought a key. It was really fun, especially with multiple people.

Basically there are 2 modes as it were. Apocalypse and "Sports" mode.

"Sports" mode basically involves either basket ball or some kind of collection/ capture the flag type game. It's actually quite fun for what it is, but it requires people to really make it something special.

Apocalypse mode is one that see's you and your friends trying to survive 1 of 2 world ending scenarios. A meteor and a zombie pandemic. Each features a barrier that will OHKO any players that are too slow to complete the level. Both level types requre players to use tetrominos to build bridges or platforms to advance. The goal is to reach the Helicopter and fly to safety.

In the Meteor level the barrier comes in the form of laval. This level is verticle so you'll be doing a lot of climbing. Occasionally small meteors will drop from the sky and strike the stage. 1 hit will kill you.

The Zombie level features a wave of destructive energy advancing from the right side to the left. The main obsticles are the Zombies. every time you brush against one they take a bite out of you until you're dead. Use tetrominos to block them off and advance towards the helicopter.

For a party game it's great, but on the same token that is it's weakness. You really want to play with friends to get the most out of it. It's also pretty liniear, once you've played the levels it's all pretty much the same. I do hope they come out with more vairence in the future. Having different Apocalypse scenarios would be a great start as I feel that is where the game shines most. It would also be really cool if characters had special attributes of some kind. As of now they're only skins and they all behave the same way, even if they are refferential in nature. An element like that could elivate the way the game is played, especially for the basketball game mode (sort of like a super mario strikers lite).

Anyway, the game is good as of writing and I look forward to seing more people pick up the game.

A classic that while it may have some issues is still a fantastic game to play, and the Mod support keeps the game fresh long past it's intended play time.

An excellent follow up to the original keeping the same fast paced and solid play, though perhaps a bit more resdtricting than the first. Levels are introduced in box sets of VHS tapes with 3 different VHS tapes per set, so 3 levels per "Act". As such each tape has a "star" meaning you won't be selecting your player most of the time, instead it's chosen for you. So unlike the 1st game where you could pick different masks to change the way you play a level, you are given a character with a play style and you need to finish the level that way. Not a deal breakerthough as it's still really fun.
