This DLC is useless without additional storyline.

I have a little less than an hour in this game so far. It's right up my alley theme-wise. I love zombies, I love horror, I love survival builders. Think 7 days to die. That's my jam. This has the potential to be quite good but in its current form it's very clunky. The graphics are... ehhhhh. I mean, I can live with 7DTD graphics so if that was the only issue, it would be fine. But the functionality is really what makes it hard to recommend this game.

Pros:
- Cool theme if you dig zombie-like baddies and a wild west sort of thing
- It's a builder

Cons:
- Building is a bit temperamental. Foundations don't snap well.
- The UI is not very responsive. First clicks on buttons, like trying to get to the crafting UI, don't register a lot of the time.
- You can use the mousewheel to swap hotbar items but knowing what is in your hand is not intuitive. How is it that I have an axe in slot 4 and I hit 4 and my lantern pops up. And when I hit 4 again, my lantern goes away and I still have an axe. Where is this damn lantern supposed to be bound? lol

This is a very very very early access, borderline proof of concept, game. I got if for 20% off and it was still just over $15, which is about 3 times as much as it should cost in its current state. On one hand I want to keep it to support the one dev that created it, but on the other, it's very overpriced for what you get just in the little time I've played it. It needs a lot of work to justify the price.

I haven't decided if I am going to have it refunded or just see how receptive (and capable) the developer is to implementing quality of life improvements on a regular basis and stick with it.

I don't really want to recommend or not recommend it. I just want to give my honest opinion on it and Steam is requiring me to choose, so for that reason I have to say I don't recommend it - For now. Hopefully not forever, though.

Cute graphic styling but this game was literally 2.3 hours long, fairly boring, and not worth the money, even 30% off. $13.99 for 2 hours of gameplay is a ripoff, and I would have been even less satisfied had I paid the whole 20 bucks. When I read the credits it said that it was developed over years... for what? I don't see how this could have taken so much time and resources for what little was delivered. Buy it if you have money to waste and are easy to entertain, otherwise spend it elsewhere.

I'm only at the end of chapter 3 in Someday You'll Return, but I'm already so impressed with the game. It's immersive, detailed, absolutely beautiful. It's also intensely creepy with a few jump scares, but not a ton (for those with anxiety). Learning that it was made by a two person team is just incredible. It's so so good. Well worth a full price purchase.
