Dark Souls meets Metroidvania to create a great and challenging single player experience. This game rewards skillful decision making and learning the nuances to combat to give the player a sense of progression not through grinding for levels and gear but through getting better at the game itself. Regular enemies feel dangerous and lethal, but never so oppressive that they seem insurmountable, not to mention the bosses in the game. The boss design in this game is so unique and creative that this game is worth picking up just to experience the bosses alone. Each boss has its own identity both in art and gameplay that gave me such tense and exciting experiences with some fights ending with me barely beating a boss before dying! This game isn't perfect, but it has such a charm to it that it shouldn't be missed. I'd definitely recommend the pick up.
