Absolutely beautiful game. Combat is a mix between hollow knight, sekiro and dead cells, and is incredibly satisfying to master: almost every single bossfight is memorable, and feel very well designed and balanced. The art style and music are great as well, creating a compelling world to explore. The main story and the development of each character is also done really well, resulting in characters that are easy to get attached to and root for.

A minor gripe is that progression is very linear with areas being locked out due to movement mechanics, and figuring out where to go in the midgame can be tedious especially without fast travel. However, overall the map design is very intuitive and guides exploration well, and has features to help completionists like me.

The game is a bit on the short side and I would definitely buy any expansion or sequel in the future.

Solid 9/10

After finishing my first playthrough, I can conclude Elden Ring is an amazing game

What I liked
There is so much content, that completing the entire game took 120 hours, and it feels like there's always more to do; In Elden Ring especially, I could play for hours every day and still find more things to do
The gameplay feels like dark souls 3 but even more challenging, with plenty of variety for playstyles
The (main) bosses are particularly well designed, and each was a highly challenging and rewarding experience to fight through, not to mention very striking and memorable
The open world is beautiful and full of interesting things that make it never monotonous, and the legacy dungeon areas have some of the best level design
Music is great

What I didn't like
There are a lot of repeat bosses, which can get tedious (especially dragons)
The numerous catacombs, caves and other underground side dungeons can get extremely tedious if you're trying to go for full completion which I did
While horse is cool, horseback movement and combat feel quite awkward

Conclusion
Overall, Elden Ring is a fantastic game, and worth buying even at full price

POSITIVES
Doom 2016 is a fantastic addition to the doom series, doing so many excellent things that make it a blast to play. The guns are so fun to use, and the gameplay makes you feel like an unstoppable badass. The powerups feel incredible to use, and the atmosphere and soundtrack are both beautifully designed. All the additional challenges to get 100% completion also feel mostly satisfying to complete.

NEGATIVES
If you're coming from doom eternal, these negatives will stand out quite strongly. Firstly, dying from platforming is a real pain, and it feels like an unnecessarily harsh punishment, especially before you have access to the in flight mobility rune, and platforming is not 100% reliable. Secondly, some challenges are just annoying, especially the glory kill and powerup challenges. If you don't manage to complete them first time round, you'll have to restart the level, and sometimes you miss a secret and cannot go back because of a 1-way level design. Lastly, the starting levels are also very painful to complete on the higher difficulties because of your extremely limited arsenal, and the start can feel very slow.

OVERALL
Despite all the flaws, I think that doom is an amazing game. While it can be frustrating at times, ultimately it provides a perfect demon slaying simulator that is definitely worth playing through.

Doom Eternal feels fantastic to play. The colourful, visually detailed graphics, the beautiful sound design and soundtrack, the fast-paced and brutal gameplay, all come together for a massively rewarding experience. Every time you shoot a gun, perform a glory kill, or blow some stuff up is a feast for the stimuli. Apart from the addictive feel of the game, the mechanics behind it are also solid and mostly feel completely fair and based upon your skill. One thing I dislike more about doom eternal is its greater focus on platforming, but all in all the platforming is quite forgiving and does not heavily impede the flow of the game. All in all, doom eternal is a definite must-play if you can afford it.

HL2E2 is an amazing experience to play through. Its new gameplay ideas and concepts that revolve heavily around the gravity gun creates many hours of action packed, rewarding gameplay. On top of this, the aesthetics are beautiful, and it is definitely a must-play of the half life series.

HL2E1 is a great extension to HL2, providing a few hours of enjoyable gameplay and story. While it doesn't have the same uniqueness that HL2 offers, it is still a solid game nonetheless and definitely fun.

Half Life 2 is a true masterpiece of a game, with beautiful graphics (even though it was released in 2004) and thrilling gameplay, with a large variety of different situations to fight through. Half Life 2 excels wherever Half Life falls a bit short, with a gripping atmosphere created by superb gameplay and graphics. Every chapter is a diverse piece of art that is a joy to play through. This is definitely a game that you need to play.

Half Life is Valve's stunning debut game, which is still great fun to play in 2020. Despite somewhat clunky graphics and some less fun sections, Half Life is an amazingly unique experience. With 10+ hours of exciting, diverse gameplay that focuses on tactical level-solving and combat, Half Life is definitely a game you should play.

I should also mention that if you're familiar with other Valve games, it is really an unparalleled feeling when you hear the iconic Valve intro music play somewhere in the middle of the game

FTL is a crazy fun rougelike game. It has complex and nuanced mechanics, great pixel graphics, and a beautiful soundtrack.

Firstly, the gameplay is awesome. While at first this may seem like a really hard game (it is a really hard game), once you figure out a kind of 'meta', the game becomes exciting to play, with a rampage through the randomly generated galaxy up til the final boss. It requires you to make the decisions about how to spend your scrap (currency) to upgrade your ship offensively or defensively, and requires you to micromanage your weapons and crew. Another really fun thing that FTL does is force you out of your meta: many times you simply cannot get what you want, and you will have to adapt your strategy to go with whatever you have, which means you have to master different skills in order to be able to consistently beat the game.

The aesthetics are also amazing, with very unique items and ships that serve to create a plausible galaxy. The music makes the experience of FTL even more immersive.

One thing that people could complain about is that the gameplay is highly RNG dependent. While this may be true, a lot of times you can control your RNG through your actions, and the randomness makes the gameplay even more exciting.
You should definitely play FTL if you want a unique space commander experience that will challenge your tactical and management skills.

*I have edited my review because I've become comparably much better than I was at the time of my previous review

The beautifully innovative concept of portals coupled with engaging and challenging puzzles that feel extremely rewarding and satisfying to solve results in this masterpiece of a puzzle game that is Portal. The gameplay is interesting and fun throughout, and the plot behind the game is fascinating. You should definitely play this game.
