What about dying side by side with a friend?

if you see this, you are weird.
Imagine me doing shi*ty beatbox sounds while you reading this
It little profits that an idle gamer,
By this still computer, among these barren maps,
Match'd with an aged controller, I mete and dole
Unequal rules unto a savage discord chat,
That hoard, and sleep, and grind, and know not me.

I cannot rest near enemies: I will consume
Potions to the lees: All times I have enjoy'd
Greatly, have suffer'd greatly, both with those
That teamed up with me, and solo, on the Seas of Thieves, and when
Thro' scudding drifts the rainy updates
Vext the dim rage quits: I am become a name on Twitch (leave a subscribe, dude);
For always roaming with a hungry wallet on Steam Summer Sales
Much have I seen and known; Discords of players
And manners, climates, guilds, factions,
Myself not least, but honour'd by them all;
And drunk delight of playing Mordhau with my teammates,
Far on the echoing fields of Stormveil Castle.

I am a part of all that I have met online;
Yet all experience is a portal gun wherethro'
Gleams that unexplored dungeons whose margin fades
For ever and for ever when I play.

How dull it is to pause, to log off,
To Rust unplayed, not to shine in use!
As tho' to respawn were life. Lifepoints stacked on lifepoints
Were all too little, and of one to me
Little remains: but every hour is saved
From that eternal logout, something more,
A bringer of new updates; and vile it were
For some three DLCs to store and hoard myself,
And this gray avatar yearning in desire
To follow knowledge like a sinking star,
Beyond the utmost bound of human thought.

This is my Steam Profile, my own Protégé,
To whom I leave the achievements and the library—
Well-loved of me, discerning to fulfil
This quest, by slow editing to make mild
A rugged heroes, and thro' soft tactics
Subdue them to the useful and the good.
Most blameless is he, centred in the sphere
Of common loot, decent not to fail
In roles of support, and pay
Meet respect to my gaming setup,
When I am offline. He plays his game, I mine.

There lies the lobby; the cloud loads her saves:
There gloom the dark, broad download speed. My teammates,
Players that have grind'd, and fought, and strategized with me—
That ever with a frolic welcome took
The fails of my aim and the sunshine, and opposed
Free hearts, free minds—you and I are old;
Old age hath yet its honor and its grind;
Logout closes all: but something ere the end,
Some progress on the battlepass of noble note, may yet be done,
Not unbecoming gamers that strove with strangers met on Crab Game.

The lights begin to twinkle from the dual monitor screens:
The long wait for Early Access to end wanes: the slow Steam downloadspeed loads: the open mic
Moans round with many voices. Come, my steam friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer game.
Push off, and sitting well in order, howbout Smite?
The sounding keys of my tactile keycaps; for my purpose holds
To play beyond the sunset, and the realms
Of all the pile of shame, until I log out.
It may be that the bugs will crash us down:
It may be we shall reach the Endgame of Baldurs Gate 3,
And see the great ending credits, whom we knew.
Tho' much is taken, the dude abides; and tho'
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved pirated software and mods, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of Nohirous friends,
Made weak by time and lag, but strong in will
To strive,
to seek,
to grind,
and not to yield.

Love you 3000.
