Rough around the edges, but fun nevertheless if you are into the genre.

Great atmospheric metroidvania.
Neat interconnected map that opens up with the unlocked abilities (like double jump and stomp). The maps are also designed to be traversed with the new abilities, although at some areas they can be interchanged.
Overally difficulty is okay, a bit spiky. All boss fights are hard puzzle sections where you run for your life without checkpoints, other than those there are a couple of areas where you have to retry a lot. In contrast, most of the time its easy, I especially felt it so after the first boss run when I went back to unlock the extra health and energy.
The actual fighting is just button smashing and with later abilities reflecting the projectiles, so thats not too exciting.
I didnt like the story, felt illogical, but at least its only few and far between the game.
Overall 485 death in 10h15m gameplay. But you can save almost any time, so not tedious.

It's not often that I replay a game on higher difficulties just to see other endings/loadouts, but this game compelled me to do so.
I enjoy the combat, even with the limited enemy variety, because the abilities are really fluid and carrying a punch.
The map is locally random, so the general layout is the same while the rooms themelves are changing, but I'm ambivalent on it.
The art style is gorgeous, really carrying the eldritch feeling while the hand drawn style makes it unique.
The sounds also adds a lot to the game, enhancing it a lot. Especially the gong before a horde hits you.
The beginning is a bit slow, but after that it picks up the pace.

All in all I would recommend everyone to give it a try if they are into action games with a dash of platforming.
Feels like a heavily underrated game that is still getting meaningful content updates.

Fun little point and click dungeon crawler.
