I tried so hard, but no. The main issue is that there is a very narrow and specific way to win certain missions, and your only job is to figure it out and then go though the motions. You are given very little freedom here, and I absolutely hate that. Do no recommend

I don't understand why this has so many positive reviews. Flow of the game is linear and bad, backtracking though same sections over and over and over, it's bad design. Convoluted controls, no free camera, unintuitive UI, the list goes on. But the worst offender is the actual party loadout, you're stuck with the preset characters and only have a rare option to add one more later in the game. I kept playing thinking it might get better. It never did, Ugh

This was not ready to be released, not even close. Constant crashes, terrible AI, broken game mechanic etc. I want to support he developer, but at the pace this is going, you better wait a few dozen updates before trying to do anything here.

I'm trying so hard to like this, but no. There is no tutorial that explains how are you supposed to accomplish objectives with missing materials. Or why does enemy start on the map with a fully build city, while I'm just making a camp fire. Then I get waves after waves of attackers within 10 minutes that will wipe out any or all defenses I can muster. I have started nearly 30 games and finished zero. What the hell, game.

It's not the greatest game, but somehow I manage to spend hours at a time playing it. The development team is incredibly diligent and punctual, promised updates show up on promised dates and the game gets better and better as time goes on. Even after the full release there are quality of life improvements and regular updates. I look forward to continue playing in the years to come.

There is a disclaimer on tile screen that the game is optimized for a controller. They weren't kidding. Even on lowest sensitivity setting, the camera does some ridiculous stuff, there is a lag on jumps for some reason, and spaceship controls are akin to juggling open beer bottles. I hear it's a great game, but can't play it without getting frustrated.

Was definitely worth the $15 I paid for it on sale, but not the $59.99 regular price.

If you want to re-live the Mad Max wasteland, this game is for you. Rage2 went out of its way to copy many aspects of it, with mixed success. I would strongly recommend that you play MaxMax first, it's currently on sale for $15 and is much better game.

Rage2 is not a polished and coherent game, I'm sorry. The story is paper-thin, and you can complete the entirety of it in under 20 hours. The missions are all the same: go to location, kill someone, repeat. The guns are rewarding to use and can be upgraded in limited, but meaningful ways. What it lacks in quality, it makes up in quantity. So if you're looking to shoot 3 variations of bad guys, with 6 good weapons out of available 9, then come on board! Vehicle combat is a chore, especially if you try to compare to FarCry, Borderlands or MadMax. That's mostly because of terrible physics that are struggling to work on this beautiful and realistic terrain. The only flying vehicle available is horrendously clunky and doesn't let you control the elevation, which is a stupid design decision. Still, it's basically the most efficient way to open the map quickly, so you'll suffer though it. The ability to spawn any unlocked vehicle at any moment is convenient, but breaks the game from many angles. Need to clear a location? Plop down a tank with unlimited ammo and carpet bomb the entire compound. It's dumb fun that gets boring fast because you going to repeat this dozens of times.

In conclusion, this is a game that tries to be the jack of all trades by copying entire segments from MadMax, FarCry and Borderlands, all tied together by a flimsy story. Buy it on sale to kill time. Enjoy it's stunning landscapes and artwork.

Game crashed after defeating the first lab boss. Doesn't load again, doesn't even go to the menu. I don't understand. Up until this point it was mediocre at best.

This game is broken on many levels. Don't bother unless it's heavily patched and on sale for under $10. Really wanted to like it, but drowning under the avalanche of bugs, glitches and crashes.
